summer fashion series day six - modern twist on a classic color combo

I'm sure it's no secret how much I love using pinterest as a spring board for all kinds of inspiration especially fashion.  My style board is one of my favorite to add pins to and it's where I found the inspiration for mixing orange, blue and white.

I just love the bold mix of color in this photo from My Style pinterest board.  I knew I had just about

everything I needed hanging in my closet (except the great bag) and so I thought I'd give it a try.

Here's what I came up with...

I actually love this outfit all by itself for an average spring or summer day.  The bold orange with the white jeans and cobalt blue necklace are such a classic combination with a fun modern twist.

The inspiration photo shows it with a pretty blue sweater which would look great on a chilly night or even into the fall but I thought this cute denim vest would add the pop of blue and still keep it cool enough for a summer day.

I'm always looking for another way to wear my denim vest and over a bold color T-shirt is a great option.  It's that extra layer that helps pull an outfit together.  Along with the cobalt blue necklace, I added a few simple pieces of silver jewelry and cute navy flats.

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day surrounded by the people you love.  I spent the day with my mom and a whole lot of family including my four grandchildren who constantly remind me that the really important things in life aren't things at all and I can't think of a more encouraging word than that.
