dressing up white jeans - fashion at 50

5/25/16

I love finding cute clothes on sale but I am always so hesitant to purchase anything that is marked final sale unless it's something I've been eying for a while and I know the stores quality and sizes.

That is exactly the case with this pretty peach, gauzy blouse that I found for 60% off at Loft
(similar) (similar) (similar).  After a bit of internal debate I purchased it and it did not disappoint.  It is classic and trendy both.  Classic in the gauzy cotton fabric and trendy with the pretty embroidered details.  I love it dressed up with my favorite white jeans (same) and platform shoes (similar) (similar) but can just as easily see it with distressed blue jeans and flat sandals.

The blouse is sheer and requires a camisole underneath but because of the eyelet holes through out the front the addition of the camisole doesn't turn up the heat factor at all.

I chose to wear my teal and coral beaded tassel necklace (same) and my staple gold jewelry.  This is definitely a look that could carry me through the day and into a casual evening out.  The blouse is cotton and very comfortable.  I am wearing a medium and there wasn't any pulling in the arm or back area at all.

In blogging news, I'm in the process of putting together a list of essential summer wardrobe pieces that can be mixed and matched to create several different looks.  I'm hoping it will help to maximize what's in our closets and make putting outfits together each day a lot easier.  I will be sharing it exclusively with my email subscribers the first week of June.  So if you are not already on the list, I'd love to have you join me because who couldn't use one less thing to think about in the morning, right?

That's it for today.  You've been asking for it, so I'll be back tomorrow with an outfit that's a bit dressier than I normally share but is perfect for church or even a special date night.   As always, thanks for stopping by, I so appreciate it.

xo, Patty

  1. Hi Patty, I love this cute summer look. Even with the long sleeves it looks cool with the cutouts . Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  2. I love anything gauzy and with cutouts. This is darling and the color is really good on you! Anything that is thin and cool is so nice for summer too.

  3. Hi Patty! You look great and I have enjoyed the "style" blog........but I miss the previous blog the way it was ...... crafts, hosting, gardening, being a grandmother, personal and encouraging. Maybe you could add a few posts from time to time for us who miss the "other" Patty :)
