I have been loving white shirts lately no matter what the weather and am having to restrain myself
from buying anymore this season. I really like this one from Loft (same). It's a soft jersey cotton with pretty details, I only wish I had gotten it in a medium instead of a large...oh wait, I did in charcoal. I'll show you that one later.
You can never go wrong wearing white with blue jeans, whether it's the contrast of a dressy, lace blouse and jeans with pumps, or the simple summer styling of skinny cuffed jeans (similar) and flip flops (similar) like I'm wearing. Either way the pairing is classic and almost always appropriate.
As always the most important things are the accessories. Here I've chosen a pretty, long coral tassel necklace (similar) and simple gold hoop earrings, watch (same) and a few bangle bracelets (similar).
This is one of those outfits that is just as easy to throw on in the morning as your basic tee and jeans and is every bit as comfortable. I love that kind of styling in the summer, don't you? When the heat starts to rise I'm always thankful that I have a few tops in my closet that can be dressed up in a hurry and still feel cool enough in the summer sun.
I don't know if it's just my age but by August I'm struggling to put on enough clothes so as not to scare anyone off. These jeans will be replaced by shorts or pedal pushers and my hair will find its way off my neck when the mercury rises.

ReplyDeletePatty, are you concerned about ladies wearing only certain colors for their hair and skin type? I took the Dressing Your Truth course last year and I always wonder about white on me. It looks great on you! Love the top too :)
ReplyDeleteI say it's a matter of finding the right white for your skin tone and that changes as we age. I don't do well in tannish whites.

I'm a lover of white too.. bright white, not a tannish white or beige. In fact I look awful in beige! I find myself always reaching for a white top or blouse when I'm out and about browsing. My fave middle of the summer (when it's hot) top is a gauzy white button up blouse that is longish and has kind of puffy cap sleeves... it's lacy on the top bodice and a scallop around the bottom. It goes so perfectly over any of my sleeveless tank tops.. so it's my "go to" cover up to wear over tanks all summer long. I need more like it! It's also very cool as quite thin. It's also very slimming for some reason so I love that! When it's really hot out, I kind of lose my inhibitions and wear whatever is coolest and don't care even if I'm out in public! oh well........
