I am not ashamed to admit that I go in to Walmart once a week or at least once every two weeks for
our toiletries and cleaning supplies. I always take a few minutes to browse through the women's clothing section while I'm there because you never know what you might find for under $10.00. And at that price I'm not worried about it lasting more than one season, although with gentle care most everything does.
I keep a list of things I would like to add to my wardrobe on my phone and always check to see if any of them find their way onto the racks and shelves of whatever store I am in. An affordable floral sleeveless top (like this one from my pinterest board) is one of the things on my list, so when I saw this pretty one (same) (similar) for during my weekly Walmart run, I quietly tossed it in my cart.
It is lightly layered and has a handkerchief hemline (which isn't my favorite but it works on this top) and is long enough in the back for good bum coverage.
I was happy with how well it went with these cute Walmart sandals (same) that I bought a couple of weeks ago and this pretty beaded necklace (same) and cuff bracelet (similar) (similar) from Kohls. The gold watch (same) was my splurge Christmas gift from my husband last year and I still love it. The yellow sweater was thrifted a couple of years ago, the soft color and 3/4 sleeves make it one of my favorites. The brand is Merona so it is most likely from Target. The jeans are my favorite Loft brand curvy skinnies (similar) in black.
There was a time when I wouldn't have even bothered looking for a sleeveless top for summer because I am not thrilled with the idea of showing my upper arms to the world, but wearing a light weight sweater or cap sleeved vest makes this pretty summertime staple a definite option.
Sometimes it just takes a little creativity to be able to wear the styles you love. When I shared that pretty lace edged tank top that I wore under my t-shirt last week, one of you suggested sewing lace onto the bottom edge of an existing tank and I love that idea. Making the latest trends affordable doesn't have to cost a lot of money...just a little imagination.
Have a wonderful Monday my friends.
xo, Patty

Seems I'm always "cold" in the A/C during the Spring & Summer. . .
