Even though our church is casual attire, I love wearing my dress clothes on Sunday morning. I wore
these black dress pants (similar) and cream colored swiss dot blouse (similar) (similar) for service last weekend.
I wish I'd gotten a better picture of the necklace that I wore. It's a fun piece that I don't think to wear often enough. With it's trendy feather accents, it is different enough to be interesting but not so different as to make people stare. Does that make sense?
I had a pair of neutral pumps at on at first but the style just didn't seem right with these pants, so I switched to these tan leather sandals from Kohls (similar). I like this look much better and for the heel being a bit high, they are quite comfortable.
I haven't mentioned how much I like these pants (similar) (similar with pockets). They are dressy in a more modern style than my usual pleated front black pants and very comfortable. The only draw back is that they don't have side pockets which I like more out of habit than necessity.
This look could easily translate to office wear as well. Don't you agree?
I think when we work from home or are full time home makers we can get so used to wearing our more casual clothes that we forget how fun it can be to dress it up a bit.
My husband laughs and says he thinks the thing I miss most about working in an office is the clothes and it's true, I do miss that but I think I miss the friendships even more. You can't help but form close bonds with women you spend so much time with Monday through Friday. I've even considered going back part time but then I wake up and count my blessings and remember the reality of trying to juggle it all. I think I'll just keep finding ways to dress up my casual every day outfits to share with you.

If you missed my post on dressing it up you can find it here.
Just thought I'd mention that Loft is having a big Memorial Day Sale and Nordstrom's half yearly sale is going on as well. I'll be back tomorrow to share my favorite picks from both stores.
Patty,
ReplyDeleteI like your style and approach to fashion, as well as friendships!
Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for sharing my recent post as well, I really appreciate it:)

I like this look, Patty. I often go to black and white for a little dressier look. I have been reading all your posts, just got a little busy with my sewing business lately so haven't been commenting as much. I love knowing I can go back and look at your posts for ideas. And when it comes to style, I need lots of ideas. You are the best!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a classic look! Now that I'm retired, I don't have many nice clothes.. gave them all away but kept a few, and black pants are one of them. I love that blouse! I buy maybe one new top a year and should buy something like that. Also.. those pants are very slimming!
