Hello my friends.  I don't normally post on Saturday but my blogging friend Stacey from  Poofing the Pillows invited me to join her every week for Shout Out Saturday and I just couldn't resist.  I mean how fun is it to spend a few hours looking through blogs and picking a few favorites to share with you.

I love clothes and my fashion pinterest board is full of cute stuff and an assortment of outfits that I want to try to incorporate into my wardrobe in the future.  But the truth is my everyday style is basically jeans and a t-shirt unless I have somewhere special to go.  Today I thought it would be fun to take that basic outfit of jeans and a tee and elevate it a bit by adding layers.

Hello Friday.  I don't know why but I am feeling every bit of this past weeks craziness and am looking forward to a couple of days with no place to go and no projects to complete.  I have been on a roll around the house and in typical fashion have three things going at the same time.

We have been in the midst of a mini heatwave with several days in the mid to upper 80's.  For those of you dealing with bitter cold I'm sure this sounds wonderful and it was for a day or two but now I just want to have a bit of winter before spring let alone summer gets here.   Fortunately for me my husband loves to work outside in the heat and has spent the weekends preparing our suburben backyard for outdoor living.

Our home wasn't built with a true entry closet and there really isn't a space dedicated for hanging

Is it Friday again, already?  Yes I know, it can't come soon enough for most of us.  Today's fashion post has a couple of my favorite outfits in it and I am looking forward to sharing them with you.

This first one combines a few of my go to elements lace, cowboy boots and jeans.

I was doing a little research on pinterest ("little" on pinterest being a relative term) for my grandson's Valentines Day treats for his class this year.  I thought with a weekend stretching ahead of us we could manage to make something inexpensive and cute and actually have it finished before the night of 13th.


There are countless ideas but I narrowed it down to these five to share with him after school.

I have to be honest when it comes to the super bowl for me it's all about the food, the commercials and half time.  My hubby is not the biggest sports fan so some years the game will actually go largely unwatched except for a sneak peak or two as we switch channels.


This year I'm heading over to a friends to eat view the game and plan on taking an appetizer and

I must confess I have developed a little thing for The Pioneer Woman's dishes at Walmart.  I have been happily collecting them one visit at a time and with each new dish line I declare a new favorite.  And so it is with these adorable scalloped ramekins.  (I only have three that I purchased individually but they have a set of six online for a much better deal.)

It's no secret I love color in my décor and they add just the perfect touch of it to these open shelves I installed a few years ago.
