Summer shorts styled six ways - fashion at 50

Hello and welcome to Lemon Lane Style.  Today I'm joining six fashion bloggers to show you six different ways to style shorts this summer at any age.

I am excited to be representing the over 50 crowd especially since it hasn't been that long ago that I
refused to wear shorts because I thought I was too old for them and now I've added a couple pairs to my summer wardrobe.  They can actually look good and appropriate on just about anyone no matter what your age, you just need to take the time to find the right style for you.

I wear jeans so often that it seemed a no brainer to find a pair of jean shorts that I could style all summer long.  After trying on several, I decided on these tried and true Lee Riders shorts (same)  (same in plus) from Walmart...I know, they were under my nose the whole time.

I really like the length of these and the fact that they are a nice sturdy denim and seem to hold their shape all day.  The fact that they were under $20.00 was just icing on the cake.

Today I'm wearing them with this cute red and white striped t-shirt (same sold out but here's a similar) that I found on clearance at Loft.  I am wearing a medium and it is plenty roomy and forgiving.  I chose to tuck in the front because at 5' 4" most t-shirts are so long right now that they are nearly dresses on me.  Since this is such a casual look I chose to keep my jewelry simple with just my silver watch (similar), a few bangles and a sweet silver charm necklace.  The slip on espadrilles (same) are from Kohls and I shared them with you a couple weeks ago.  The cross body bag (same) is from Nordstrom.
