Early Summer Wardrobe Challenge -Ten Items/Ten Outfits
Day 10 - Skinny Jeans and Patterned Short Sleeve Top
We made it to day ten. Thanks for sticking with me. About half way through I started to realize that this is kind of like styling a capsule wardrobe which is something I didn't think I could ever do. The thought of being limited to so few things was not something I wanted to commit to, but I did it.
Today I'm styling the shorts (same and on sale), the patterned short sleeve top (similar) (similar) and my denim vest (similar) (similar in plus). I really like the way the vest adds a little something extra to the shorts.
This is not a combination I would normally put together because I normally think of shorts as super
casual and something that I wouldn't think to wear out, but I think the vest and espadrille slides give it enough detail that I could totally pull it off.
The Loft shorts have proven to be versatile and the grey/green color is really a neutral, blending with navy and earth tones equally well. The slides (same) are from Kohls and have been a pleasant surprise. I was afraid they might end up being a bit bulky and slip off but they are quite comfortable.
This ten items = ten outfits has really been a great lesson for me in stretching how I normally think of clothes. If you're like me, you tend to categorize your clothes either seasonally or by occasion. Having to wear a limited number of garments really causes you to use your imagination and repurpose what you have.
I'll finish off tomorrow with a recap and then I'm ready to show you a few new things that I've found for summer as well. I guess next week is soon enough.

I loved this challenge! Mostly because I rarely have more than ten pieces at a time. I like clothes but I don't like to shop. This shows me what I can do with what I have.

ReplyDeleteVery cute look! That patterned blouse goes with about anything... I like to wear jean vests year round.. in the winter with a turtleneck looks great and in the summer with a light knitted (long) dress. My pink shorts that I wore don't match my patterned top (yellow) so may have to pass on this one! I need to get a good pair of neutral shorts besides the jean shorts I have!
