Saturday morning musings of a momma's heart - let's chat

6/4/16

I woke up this morning to the sound of the neighbors lawn sprinklers and felt the promise of the afternoon heat in the morning air, so I guess it is officially summer here in Southern California.  I don't know why but time seems to be a bit of a blur these last few months with one week chasing the other as we reach the midpoint of 2016.  How is that even possible?  It seems like just yesterday that I was clearing away the Christmas clutter and welcoming in the New Year.

I am feeling a bit reflective this morning as I think about the changes that will be coming to our
household in the very near future and maybe that's why I am marking time in my mind.  Why is it that we can wish things so and then when they actually come to be we wonder how on earth did that happen so quickly?  I know I am being a bit vague but the ink is not dry and so what I am pondering may not even come to pass but as a momma, I am prone to worry and wonder and even give thanks in the hard but necessary stuff.

I managed to clip a few flowers from my neglected garden for a pretty bouquet for the center of the dining room table.  I was surprised that there were even blooms to be had as I haven't spent much any time out there lately.  Just goes to show they don't need me as much as I need them and I do need them.  The sight of freshly cut flowers on the dining room table will forever remind me of a well loved home.  Like a pretty bow on a beautiful gift, just the outward adornment for the love that is expressed inside.

It occurs to me that this post has been a bit like an episode of Seinfeld...a lot of talk about nothing really at all.  Just thoughts with no direction or real purpose...just the Saturday morning musings of this momma's heart.

I couldn't pull just one name to receive a handmade heart so I will be sending one out to each of you that commented on my handmade heart post through yesterday.  Send me an email with your address and I will send it out this week.

Have a wonderful weekend.

xo, Patty

Here are the links to a couple more let's chat posts as I ponder thoughts on peace and time in the garden.

My picks for a pretty centerpiece...I would take a gingham napkin and place it on an angle in the bottom of the tray and place the pitcher in the center with a bunch of fresh sunflowers, hello summertime!

  2. Hi Patty, I think your mind is spinning...relax sweet girl. I love your red pitcher with the ball jars. It's nice to bring flowers in. I will have to warn you...if you think time is flying by now, it gets even faster the older you get. You are sweet to share your hearts with others. :):) Your give away hearts. But I like that you are comfortable sharing your inner heart with us. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  4. Sometimes we need to write in "vague" just to clear our hearts and minds for the moment. In the meantime, your friends will patiently wait until you can share, if you choose.

Love the fresh flowers. I have some blooms, but wasn't sure if I should pick them or not.

  5. Love your "ponderings" and just talking... I sometimes feel the need to do that on my blog when I feel kind of scattered and can't decide what to share or talk about. Sometimes I just want to sit down and write about "nothing" as you call it, but it really IS something! Thank you for sharing and it makes us all feel (I'm sure) that we are not alone in the days when we feel kind of unfocused, etc. or there are things on our minds. Love your flowers display and I need a tray like that as love the Mason jars and the napkin peaking out. Thank you for the heart give-aways and I'll send you my mailing address via email. You are so sweet!
