in the works

8/30/12

I finally got started on my dining room yesterday.  I don't know why my get up and go has got up and gone.  I think this never ending heatwave has just zapped my mojo.

I am longing to feel a cool breeze in the air.  I miss my walks in the crispness of the morning.  Every time I feel a change in the weather coming that darn low pressure returns to the west coast and we swelter a little longer.

Okay, I am done complaining...

Back to my dining room in the works.  I managed to recover four of our six dining room chairs and I love the bold graphic fabric in there.  After a nice breakfast with a couple of friends this morning, I will be back at it so hopefully, I'll have some pictures to share with you soon.

Has it cooled down were you are?

xo, Patty

  1. Hi, I love your floral arrangement-so rich looking. We are on day 62 of 95 degree weather and previously we had 60+ days over 100. Hopefully it should start cooling down, we've had some cooler evenings. I can't wait to see what type of fabric you recover your chairs in.
    Have a great day!

  2. Patty,
Gorgeous floral arrangement and love the peek of the glasses and polka dot plate! It's been HOT, once again here on the Prairie!!! Tomorrow is suppose to be cool...only in the upper 80's!!! Hope to get out on the deck and bring some Autumn to that area. So~o~o ready for coffee there AM. and PM. Have a blessed (and productive) weekend, dear friend!

  3. Still scorching here. I've had no choice but to find my mojo, but it hasn't been easy. This heat is draining.

  6. It's a wee cooler. But still awfully muggy. My Mom is bringing dinner so we don't have to cook. Wood Ranch BBQ/
Hope you gals had a nice time this morning. I hope I can go one time soon. Back to the floor cleaning....

  11. Yes, Patty, it has definitely cooled down here in western Massachusetts. The day have been cool and sunny. Pure delight.

Sorry it's still hot on the west coast. Hope it cools down soon.

    Take care. Susan

  12. It's 98*F. up here... and extremely smokey. We did have about two days of clean air to breathe and now it's classified as unhealthy once again. It's really getting to me and many of my senior friends. I'll be so glad when the firemen can get a handle on these fires and get them out. We could really use some heavy rain, but that's not expected until November/December. Take care and do stay out of the heat.

  14. We had been experiencing 80-degree days after a sweltering summer but now the temps are going back up to around 100 over the holiday weekend. Yuk! Thankfully, the days are shorter so the heat doesn't last as long :)

  15. It is so true that a "heatwave just zaps your mojo". As I head for Thailand next week {to welcome a new grandbaby} I know it will be one constant "heatwave".
