I'm typing this sitting in the Starbucks at my local Barnes and Noble enjoying a delicious coffee and a chocolate biscotti. This is day two of my pamper me month...
I had a few errands to run today so I thought I would take the advice of my dear friend Pat and stop in for a cup of joe and a browse through my favorite magazines. I even brought $20.00 to spend just in case (when) I find something that has to come home with me.
I am midway through the decluttering of my kitchen and dining room. I moved a few things around and came up with this new centerpiece for the table.
Yesterday I cleaned out my plastic storage cupboard and my pots and pan cabinet. Do you find that plastic container tops and bottoms are much like socks? You can never find the partner...
Bottoms with no lids and lids with no bottoms, into the trash they went. Plus a whole lot of containers that belong to my mom. Sorry mom. They will be returned to you this weekend. (Though they came full of yummy left overs they are returning empty. Bad daughter!)
It's going to be another warm one outside so I think once my errands are done I will hole myself up behind my sewing machine. I want to make a burlap runner for my buffet (yes, I know I am way late hopping aboard the burlap boat) just to add a little color and texture on my scaled down buffet vignette.
My battery is running low and there are no outlets here so I better close this post. Thanks for stopping by, it makes my day when you do.
xo, Patty
That's a cheery centerpiece, Patti! I like the blue rooster!
ReplyDeleteCute, cute, cute! Love that "bee" bowl! You can just tell when someone is artistic. Thanks for sharing!

love, luv the blue rooster. so cute! very cheerful kitchen area. love!! (:
ReplyDeleteHi Patty. I love the new centerpiece! Looking at it, I realized that I sat at that very spot you showed, in the chair on the left, when we enjoyed your wonderful hospitality back in December. Or, was it November?
ReplyDeleteI love to go to Barnes & Noble, and get an iced tea when it is hot, and a coffee when it is cold, and browse the magazines and books. I don't purchase nearly as many anymore. I still get my fair share, but I am more selective now when I buy.
Keep up that pampering! And yes, plastics are like socks!!! NEVER with their mates!!!
: ) Kris
Such a happy and cheerful centerpiece on your table!
ReplyDeleteGlad that you are pampering yourself too :)
Enjoy this gorgeous day!
Smiles :)

I love your new centerpiece, bright and beautiful. Yes I constantly lose the lids or bowls and it makes me kinda crazy, like where on earth do they go? Really! Have a great weekend, what a great idea to spend the month pampering yourself. Hugs ~ Mary
ReplyDeleteYour centerpieces are so fun and colorful! Today I took myself to breakfast and then went and bought the rest of the art supplies I needed to begin my Art Journal. It is something I have always wanted to do because I am so NOT an artist...go figure...and so today I completed the first page of my 'dream' journal...a journal where I am 'artistically' expressing what I dream for myself...so that was my nurturing for today ;) God Bless..and thanks for visiting.
ReplyDeletePatty it is so cute. You have such a way with display. I love it. I want to come see it all one day and have breakfast. My schedule will be more tight for babysitters soon but one of my girls will still be around a couple of days a week.
ReplyDeleteSmiling here, Patty. I spent the morning at Starbucks with my computer waiting for my grands for finish up with VBS. It felt good to just do something for me - sipping coffee and checking my blogs. We all need to do this more often. Love your sweet little vignette. I am with you-plastic tops/bottoms that never match & my dd's even worse! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteWhat I would do to just go to a coffee shoppe and browse. Sounds delightful! Again, you mastered a beautiful vignette. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet things for your centerpiece...I love the Bubble Bee bowl...and the blue rooster so cute...It's nice to take a minute for ourselves...enjoy the rest of the day with love Janice
ReplyDeletePatty,
ReplyDeleteYour trayscape centerpiece just makes me smile! Bright, cheerful, whimiscial! When returning those containers to Mom...you might want to put a "Chocolate Biscotti" inside! Thanks for the mention, dear friend ...I am flattered!
Fondly,
Pat
Your centerpiece is beautiful. The bright blue chicken is my favorite. I bet it feels good weeding unneeded things out. I have only been in my new place for 3 years and I have 2 junk drawers going that need a clean out.
ReplyDeleteWell...what a fine day it sounds like you have had....love the "pampering" part the most!
ReplyDeleteHappy August!
Kari
I love your centerpiece...Bright and cheerful..Yes, I too feel guilty returning empty containers..You could put a nice little note in each one???
ReplyDeleteYour centerpiece is soo pretty!!! I recently got rid of the mismatched lids and bowls too.
ReplyDeleteHope that you have a great weekend.
cute centerpiece!!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors and the look of these pieces as tey sit together. Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteCute table top arrangement. While you're busy throwing away plastic containers, I'm collecting them. (This is the year everyone comes together for Thanksgiving. We send home leftovers.)
ReplyDeleteI like all the bright colors. What a great idea to have a "be good to me" month. Wow. I like that. Have fun! Susan
ReplyDeleteLove the centerpiece.... love Barnes and Noble and coffee too! Hope you show and tell your burlap runner!
ReplyDeleteKeep pampering yourself and keep having fun!
Stacey
Sounds like a wonderful way to pamper yourself. Biscotti is always my choice when I go out for coffee with friends. I must make some at home one of these days. Need to clean out my kitchen cupboards. You are so right about the plastic lids -- and with my boys, there are socks all over the place and half of them are no longer pairs. How does that happen? Where do they go? It's a mystery! Your centerpiece is lovely. Looks like we are having a dust storm today -- the first in a while, so I will continue to crochet and stitch away the day. Best wishes for a wonderful weekend. Tammy
ReplyDeleteI hope you keep up with your pampering month. Coffee and biscotti sounds like such a treat, especially when you toss in a magazine or two to browse. Do let us know what else you are doing to pamper yourself this month. I'm interested!
ReplyDeleteThat is so fun you are pampering yourself. You are motivating me to put more time aside for myself.
ReplyDeleteYour centerpiece is colorful and happy!
ReplyDeleteOh Patty, that is an adorable centerpiece. You have such cute things and an amazing way with them.
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Debbie
There is something so nuturing about taking the time to arrange a thoughtful center piece.
ReplyDeleteOh, a Starbucks and Barnes and Noble. I am so jealous. My idea of pampering. Your centerpiece for your table is co cute. Love that little chicken (or was it a rooster)Know just what you mean about the plastic containers.
