It's Friday...can I get a woot, woot? After my busy week of pushing furniture, emptying drawers, wiping down, wondering how those crumbs got in there and putting it all back in place, I am definitely ready for the weekend.
If the comments are any indication, one thing is clear, you all love kitchens just as much as I do. That old cliche that they are the heart of the home is certainly true. Even though we spend more and more time obsessed with the latest technology, our kitchens (maybe more than ever) are the one place we come together face to face, whether it's for a sit down meal or a quick snack.
I am hoping to spend some time this weekend responding to your sweet comments and answering any direct questions you may have posed. If you don't get a response from me, check to make sure you are not set to "no reply blogger". I know I was for a while and didn't even know it. Several bloggers have done tutorials on how to check if you are and how to change it. I have linked to sweet Claudia's at Mockingbird Hill Cottage for your reference.
Thank you again for the praise. I think it must be a woman thing because my family gave me a quick, "Yeah, that looks fine." and moved on to "What's for dinner?" Oh well, I'm pleased as punch and that's all that matter, right? Can't wait to show it all to you next week.
Have a wonderful weekend!
xo, Patty

A woman and her kitchen. It's quite the intricate relationship. I just mopped mine from the wheel chair. Won't stay clean long. But I feel better. Kitchens are so cozy and indicative of the woman that spends so many hours there. I love your style!

My kitchen is crazy busy all summer long - canning, freezing, dehydrating etc. After that season is over, then I can organize and finish up painting. Your kitchen looks great.
ReplyDeleteI just love how your kitchen turned out. I'm still going to steal your colors!LOL! This weekend is my High School reunion, Oh my, how does time pass so quickly??
ReplyDeleteOh Patty, my family is like that too! Even some of my facebook friends. You need a group of people like bloggers that are interested in decorating!
ReplyDeletePatty- That means you have a NORMAL family- aren't you happy to know that? You mean you get a Yeah? I'm impressed...sometimes I just get eye rollings- Blessings to you and I LOVE that runner- xo Diana

ReplyDeletePatty,
ReplyDeleteMy MoMa and grandmother were their happiest in their kitchens! I hope that I've inherited that trait from them. This kitchen is my biggest challenge for lack of space, but since it's just "Mr. Ed" and I most of the time, we suffice!those Sunflowers are gorgeous! One sign you might put up in your kitchen..."Kiss the Cook"!!!
Fondly,
Pat
I had to laugh. Typical of the men, eh?
ReplyDeleteHave a good day!
Kris
Oh that table runner is dreamy!
ReplyDeleteI love this style. Love that your vignette is all in a great vintage crate. The lamp, the gingham, the runner...all adorable!

ReplyDeleteLove the runner..Your family is too used to your changing things from time to time..I guess they don't appreciate all the effort it entails.....I hope you don't take it personally..It's typical..
ReplyDeleteMy kitchen is my favorite place in my home...and every one else apparently by the look of it! I do believe our happiest times are spent here.
ReplyDeleteI am loving the runner, Patty!

You should be super proud of the changes you've made in your kitchen. It's just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love it. Do you still want to do breakfast on Wed? I just have to take Maddy to first day of school. Waaaa!! But I am free after 7:30. We can go later after I come home and actually get ready. I hope Shelly can go. Miss her.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like a project to restore order, add beauty, and make us feel like we are in the game-
ReplyDeleteright?

You have inspired me to re-organize my kitchen!
I've been pinning pictures of kitchens for weeks. Dream of sprucing up my kitchen.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I was ready for the weekend on Wednesday!
I love my kitchen, we renovated a couple of years ago (it's still not completely done). I've just posted about it recently, it's the post before my current post if you'd like to view it.
ReplyDeleteI love your table runner, I'm thinking about doing a similar project for our cottage using my late mother-in-laws dish towels.
Have a lovely weekend!
KITCHEN WITH ROOM TO SPARE. that would be a blessing. We trip over each other in mine. When Hubby comes in he says "spread out". I should laugh. I am in the process of finding a hutch or something to add to my kitchen for storage. Which will mean...move that to replace this and so on. Haven't found just what I want so I go on. Can't wait to see the finished pic. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour whole home looks lovely. Would love a full house tour. Your love of your home shows!
ReplyDeleteI envy you. I am just about to start what I call my Fall Cleaning. Just waiting for the heatwave to end.
ReplyDeleteHi Patty,
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen looks wonderful...so comforting and inviting.
