bits and pieces

Just one more post of the bits and pieces of my kitchen as it comes together.  I really am not trying to be a tease but I am loving the little changes as they happen and I can't help but share.

I finished the simple black check valance yesterday and can't believe what a difference it makes.  It just screams quintessential FARMHOUSE.  Don't you think?

I wish I could show you more but just beneath the cute curtain lies the truth and it ain't pretty.  I still have clutter laying about as I empty out drawers and reorganize what goes back in.

In fact, that will be tomorrow's post...organizing a small working kitchen, a kitchen that gets used constantly everyday by a variety of people.

Until then,

xo, Patty

  1. Oh- I love those curtains. I grew up in a farmhouse with green gingham kitchen curtains. They were always so fresh looking but black and white is even more classic. Good job- xo Diana

  18. I went to JoAnns several months ago for black gingham fabric for a kitchen valance, and came home with something completely different that caught my eye. I still love the black checks, and maybe sometime in the future I will go back for the classic black check. I'm thinking it's way cool!

We just recently bought a farm house style home and your blog is so motivating in giving me some ideas for decorating. The look you are creating is just the look that I'm going for myself, so I'll be stalking this blog constantly for more ideas. The curtains are perfect. Love them! Thanks :)

  29. My Mom had yellow and white gingham most of my life. I loved when she washed them, hung them on the line to dry and then starched and ironed them before hanging them back up. Love the way your Black and white looks. Loving your lemon pieces too. Had lots of lemons things in my kitchen in my house. Your reorganization is lookin so good.
Okay...I'm caught up. Always love reading about and seeing what you are up to.
