It is such a nice morning I decided to have my coffee out on the front porch. The neighborhood is still quiet except for the chirps of the birds and the sound of the sprinklers preparing the lawn for the heat of the afternoon.
I am trying to enjoy the moment because I know today will be a busy one. Monday's usually are. I guess because I am feeling refreshed from the weekend, my to do list seems inviting and not daunting. Ask me on Thursday and my attitude may have done a 180 degree turn.
I managed to get my wheelbarrow painted yesterday so after I get things done around the house I want to head out to the garden center and pick up some soil and flowers to plant in it. I painted the bottom a bright turquoise that I think will liven up a corner of the garden that I've just started to plan out. Sometimes it takes an unlikely catalyst to get me going on a new project. Are you the same way?
This weeks topic for our housekeeping series is the laundry room, so part of my work today will be emptying mine out...it's actually a laundry closet so it's not as major as it sounds. I have to get to the post office and mail some packages, make a few appointments and re-hang the freshly laundered valance in the kitchen. See, I told you...busy, busy, busy. What's on your schedule today?
"Who is in charge of your life? If it is you, then you have good reason to worry. But if it is I, then worry is both unnecessary and counterproductive When you start to feel anxious about something, relinquish the situation to Me. Back off a bit, redirecting your focus to Me. I will either take care of the problem Myself or show you how to handle it. In this world you will have problems, but you need not lose sight of Me." Sarah Young, Jesus Calling
Planning is important but hold those plans loosely, don't be rattled by interruptions and detours, trust the One in charge.

Good morning Patty. I can't wait to see the wheelbarrow. I am afraid that I won't be doing much today. I have a cold and will just be taking it easy.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Could not wait to tell you today that I tackled the pantry this weekend. I gave it a good scrubbing and threw away SO MUCH outdated stuff. I had many items in excess that I pick up routinely at the grocery store. I also found that I am out of some staples.
ReplyDeleteI am really enjoying your series. :)
You are full of energy and I love you cheerful coffee cup. I am exhausted and wish I had a small portion of your energy today. hugs, olive
ReplyDeleteI love your mushroom candle holders. Where did you find them? Can't wait to see your wheelbarrow. Have fun planting that! Not much on my list today. I would love to sit and read my book, but seems I always find something that stops me from doing that. Love your pictures as always!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you do with the wheelbarrow.
ReplyDeleteLove your sweet positive approach to Monday.
Not many plans today....headed to the doctor....I can't talk and you see that's a problem for me,hah, not really funny though.
Oh yes! The One in charge knows best!
ReplyDeleteLove those toadstool candles!
On my agenda is some laundry and general housecleaning. Your "unlikely catalyst" comment is timely, Patty. I put my blog on Facebook a week ago, on a bit of a whim. This weekend I had an idea about how to use it so HAD to prep a post about that for tomorrow. And so it goes! Laundry; I'll get on it now. :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your wheelbarrow!

ReplyDeleteI love your porch! I would love to have one like it! The wheelbarrow sounds beautiful and I can't wait to see it. I love a busy day - not crammed, just busy enough!
ReplyDeleteHi Patty...
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful way to start the day, and a fresh new week.
I got up at 4:00 am, trying to get a jump start on my day.
Here it is noon, and I still have much to do.
Not too worried though... things always wait~~LOL!
Have a wonderful week!

I always feel refreshed after the weekend. Feel like I can do it all. But then midweek I realize I can't. It's a vicious cycle. It's 9:20 pm here, our day is almost done. Just a few more days and my summer holiday will begin. Have a great rest of the day. Tammy
ReplyDeleteI'm too lazy to plan too much. Just try to get the basics done. Your porch as always is so adorable. You and Shelly both.
ReplyDeleteI am excited to see what you do with your wheelbarrow. I need to get off my butt and get a couple of things done today yet. I hope your morning coffee and sit about gave you the energy to get a lot done- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteWish I'd read this first thing this morning just to remind me to make adjustments where needed. I've been grocery shopping. I had my tea on the porch early also, was able to enjoy a soft rain moving through. Your coffee cup is quite colorful and pretty. Mine has snowmen on it. I think I could use a new mug! :D
ReplyDeleteGreat post, nice porch!
Debbie
I love the quote...now if only I could do it all the time!!!!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the wheel barrow reveal

Your porch couldn't be any cuter! That's just the kind of place I'd love to have my coffee each morning. Maybe someday!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the inspiration.
Erica :)
Patty,
ReplyDeleteLove the candles flickering on your porch! So inviting and homey!!! Sounds as if you're one busy lady, for sure! Enjoy your day...and the week ahead!
Fondly,
Pat
Patty,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed my coffee this morning out on the back porch too, with my devotionals. Wonderful way to start the week....
Your coffee cup is looking good!
Mondays are busy...ran to Aldi, Walmart, doctor's office, and the like. Got some phone calls and laundry out of the way.
Great start to the week.
Front porch...or back porch mornings are the best! Love your colors on yours.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
Tammy
Can't wait to see your wheelbarrow..
ReplyDeleteYour porch is darling..Have a super week...
Your porch is so pretty and inviting. Wonderful place to sit and have coffee!!
ReplyDeleteI looked at my check list from the weekend and I was able to only cross off one. boohoo. But add the new list on to the old and carry on.
ReplyDeleteYou make everything look so comfortable. . . I would enjoy sitting and having coffee with you . . .
ReplyDeleteIt was a busy day for me too...it seems like everyday is pretty busy around here these days! I can't wait to see your wheelbarrow!
ReplyDeleteIts a rainy day in Baltimore so we are attacking a very messy, very filled, 13 year Olds closet today. Add lots of laundry to that and a delivery trip to the goodwill.
ReplyDeleteCant wait to see the wheelbarrow! Enjoy your coffee!
Just your short line about the sprinklers preparing the lawn evoked a flash of sensory memories going back to my youth and 40 years since then - ah, summertime!
ReplyDeleteAmen on the quote! Great food for thought.
ReplyDeleteLoving your porch and the bright colors. Very inviting.
