I thought I'd share a little project I did last week for the garden. I don't know if you have metal planters that you're not using because they need new liners, like I do. Even on sale at half price, it can cost a small fortune to replace those liners every year.
I thought I'd play around with some brown burlap I had laying around as a possible alternative.
After a few adjustments made with the stapler...so far so good.
It has been exposed to hose watering and hot weather and it is holding it's own.
Pretty and practical. Just my style.
xo, Patty
What a refreshing blog you have! My first visit but I am following already.Come over and say hello sometime.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous idea! Yes those liners are expensive and this is a wonderful idea! Thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea . . . I may give this a try. This year I found a garden center that sold the liner material by the yard. I found it a bit less expensive then the ready made to fit liners.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great alternative. We can't use those type containers here as the heat would dry them out faster than we could keep them watered.
ReplyDeleteI wish we could as I love yours.
Great idea. We lined some half circle wall ones and some hanging baskets with weed matting which came in a roll of 5 mtrs for $2 at a $ shop. It works just fine and the birds don't want it. Whereas before with the other bought type, the birds pecked it away for their nests. I love your planter and the colour. xo
ReplyDeleteSmart! My pots and planters (not that many, really) are feeling the scorching heat. I love how burlap works! Thank you!
ReplyDeletePretty planter! Great idea to use the burlap.

ReplyDeletei've one question, do you know what to use to get rid of from tiny little bus from rose bud. i'm very new in gardening. they are sucking my little white rose plant...
Necessity is the mother of invention :)

I love this idea. I had to replace one of my liners this year, looked at the real thing and said no. So I went to the dollar store and bought two of their planters with liners, and used both liners to fit my one planter. Only cost $2, much cheaper than at the garden center.
ReplyDeleteLife is encroaching on Olive Out too. Love your creativity Patty.
ReplyDeleteSo creative..looks great.good find. Love the idea other than the fact that they dry out so quickly.
