display pieces

6/5/12

When my sister in law and I decided to open a booth at a local antique mall we set about hitting yard sales and thrift stores for furniture pieces to display our things on.  We managed to purchase all these soon to be treasures for under $100.00.  Pretty good, huh?

The booth space we rented is already painted a pretty robin's egg blue so we decided to leave it as is and paint all the display furniture one color to help unify it.

Luckily we both love color so we need something neutral to really make our wares pop.  With the exception of the chairs and ottoman all of this will be sanded, primed and painted white.

We really lucked out finding the chairs especially this old sewing chair.

The seat is removable and has a storage area for sewing threads and such.

Don't you think the chairs will look cute painted in a different colors?

It was so much fun powering up my palm sander and getting started.  I have the first coat of primer done on three pieces so hopefully, I'll be sharing more soon.

So now it's your turn...How productive was your Monday?

xo, Patty

  2. Amazing finds at fantastic prices - don't you just love yard sales and thrifting?!?! Re: Home Comforts, I read about 1/3 of the library book and then had to order one from Amazon to keep - I will refer back to this book forever, it's really inspired me in countless ways. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Hugs ~ Mary

  7. This sounds exciting! You found some great chairs and cabinets for your shop and I can't wait to see them painted and in place as props. I had paint on my hands yesterday too as I helped a friend paint her cute little one room cottage in her backyard! Have a great day. Pamela

  9. I LOVE those pieces! You have such a good eye!

I made seven new fabric flowers last night. That's about as productive as I can account for in the crafty department.

  12. My monday was quite productive, in fact Monday is my favorite day of the week as I am refreshed and ready to go after the weekend and the kids are back at school and I can really focus. This monday was my last monday before kids are out for the summer, but listed several pieces of jewelry on our store (www.laughingfrogstudio.etsy.com), painted and distressed a bookcase for display at this weekend's market, made a pendant lamp out of an old petticoat AND did the standard laundry, cooking etc.!! Was a good day! Your finds for $100 are quite an amazing deal! Cannot wait to see how they turn out, be sure to post it!

  14. What fun! I just remembered something I wanted to spray paint red today.
Monday was productive! Lots of chores, laundry done. Also laid a brick pathway and tilled up half the yard to seed with grass. Productive indeed.

My Monday was actually VERY productive as I prepared lunch to serve on Tuesday for the adult day care at my church. I also attended my church Circle meeting in the evening.
