easy to please

7/24/12

I am having so much fun playing with this fabric.  I have a feeling you are going to get tired of seeing it in no time flat.  A certain four year old likes it, too.  Once he saw the tractor (his favorite thing right now) he had to have something made from it.  I suggested a pair of shorts but he nixed that idea and asked for a place mat.

Easy enough...

I had a left over block from the quilt top I finished this afternoon so I just started adding borders until the dimensions were right.

After a quick run through the washer, it is ready to go.

I love how easy it is to please him at this age.  Too bad it doesn't last for long.

I have the quilt top all pinned and ready to quilt so I'm sure you'll be seeing this tangerine and blue combo at least one more time soon.

Have a wonderful Tuesday.

  9. Hi Patty!

That is an adorable placemat for a special little guy!! And I love that it was his idea to have a new placemat with the cute tractor! Children are awesome! :D

I am catching up on your blog as I have had my nose stuck in a very special book! Patty, thank you again for your amazing giveaway! The two books are wonderful!! I have been telling all my friends about them! The book, 1000 gifts, has truly been a blessing as it was so timely! I didn't realize how much I needed to be reminded to look (hard if necessary) for the beauty and goodness in the ordinary days of life when it sometimes seems to be all work and no fun! The devotional too has been refreshing as it has a unique twist that I LOVE!! I am so thankful for our amazing faithful FATHER!!

Thank you again dear friend!! You are a treasure!

    Love XOXO

P.S. what a beautiful post about your son in law and daughter and sweet pretty little Emily a few posts back!! Welcome home and thank you to our brave courageous military men!! God bless him and his little family!!

  13. I'm going to have to expand my fabric shopping trips to include quilt shops. The fabrics I'm finding lately just don't thrill me. I like your choices and that placemat is awfully cute. I too am looking forward to seeing the quilt you are working on.

  14. This is a great request from a 4 year old boy. Maybe I could start with something that small. Great idea.
