life interrupted

Just as I was getting into the swing of our empty nest, guess who stopped by for a couple of days and happily caused my new life to be interrupted?

My youngest daughter and my grandson stopped by on their way to San Diego and decided to stay the night.   In a mere matter of minutes my old quiet cottage has been transformed into a noisy, train and hot wheel. little boy haven.

Those of you with snow on the ground might want to cover your ears...we reached 80 degrees today so it didn't take long for the water to go on out back.

What a wonderful surprise...no worries, this time I will be more than willing to let go when the time comes.  I am kind of getting used to this old, quiet cottage...there is a season for everything.

Enjoy your Friday.

xo, Patty

  2. Awww, what a cutie he is!!! I love having my house filled with the little one's and their lively play and giggles. And I also love it when I get to have some quiet. Which is not very often!!! Tomorrow, my baby boy is moving out. Empty nest again, but it doesn't ever seem to stay that way for long!

  6. Oh Patty, what a darling little golf pro! I bet your heart ached when he left. Nothing like grand children! 80'? Not fair, it was so cold here today and the wind howled all day! ;D

  8. I should have covered my eyes too ... how horrific, I spotted a green garden and people wearing shorts. It's like we live on different planets! Sounds like such a lovely visit!

  9. It's been warmish here but I woke up this morning to snow on the ground. I don't think it will last, though.

    Your grandson is a cutie!

  12. Oh, I am so happy to hear you are getting some time with your little man. Love your attitude too. You are a very special lady, Patty.
Supposed to be near 80 here today too. I hope to get out and clean up my flower containers and get them ready for some new plantings.

  13. We hit 80 yesterday as well! Today we are in the 50s with a chance of a freeze tonight. My nest has been empty for several years; I just can't seem to get used to it. Hugs! Bonnie
