a touch of handmade

1/13/12

I promised you handmade, so I've added this feminine little hand bag to the prize.  I love the little yo-yo snaps and the fabric is still one of my favorite combinations.

Keeping in the spirit of romance and Valentines Day, I thought today it would be fun to share our favorite romantic movie.

If I go with what pops into my mind first, it's Sleepless in Seattle.  I am such a sucker for that movie and will watch it every time I catch it on TV.

But as I mulled it over in my mind I would have to add Hope Floats, there is something about Harry Connick, Jr. that gets me every time.  I love that scene at the dance where he smooth talks her around the floor....SWOON!

But then how could I leave out The Notebook?  Such a true romance...And that doesn't even touch on the classics...

Okay, I'm ready to hear yours.  Contemporary or Classic?

I'll wrap it all up tomorrow, I promise.  Patty

  5. I can only commit myself to a "favorite for a day". It may change tomorrow!

The other day I watched "An Affair to Remember" again. I cry during the last scene every time. For today that will be my favorite.

Seriously though, thank you for giving us something sweet to think about , and for putting your lovely bag to the giveaway.

  6. I'll choose a classic that is related to your choice of "Sleepless in Seattle". You'll recall that movie's references to "An Affair to Remember"(including a rendezvous at the Empire State Building). So, my choice is the film featuring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. I was woefully disappointed that Grant was not on the viewing deck on my one trip to New York!
    Have a wonderful day, Patty.

'Spendor in the Grass' with Sandra Dee & Warren Beaty always tears me up. And I did find 'The Notebook" very touching. They both break my heart!

  29. Such a pretty purse, Patty. You have really made this giveaway special.
My all time favorite is "Summer Place" with Sandra Dee and Troy Donahue. It is the first movie I saw with a real kiss in it (I think I was in 6th grade). Can't believe my Mom let me watch it.
Then, I don't know if they are so romantic, but I love dancing movies. Dirty Dancing, Grease, Footloose are my favorites.

  30. Hi Patty - I just had a trip down memory lane via YOU. The first thing I ever sewed was a yo yo, at the knee of my great grandmother. I helped her thread her needles. (I couldn't understand why she couldn't do it! Now, I do.) I'm a Jane Austen fan - Pride and Prejudice or Sense and Sensibility are way up there on my list of romantic flicks!
Following you back and glad we're connected!
