I promised you handmade, so I've added this feminine little hand bag to the prize. I love the little yo-yo snaps and the fabric is still one of my favorite combinations.
Keeping in the spirit of romance and Valentines Day, I thought today it would be fun to share our favorite romantic movie.
If I go with what pops into my mind first, it's Sleepless in Seattle. I am such a sucker for that movie and will watch it every time I catch it on TV.
But as I mulled it over in my mind I would have to add Hope Floats, there is something about Harry Connick, Jr. that gets me every time. I love that scene at the dance where he smooth talks her around the floor....SWOON!
But then how could I leave out The Notebook? Such a true romance...And that doesn't even touch on the classics...
Okay, I'm ready to hear yours. Contemporary or Classic?
I'll wrap it all up tomorrow, I promise. Patty
Oh, I have two and have never been able to decide which is the best...An Officer and a Gentlement...and Pretty Woman.
ReplyDeletePatty I was looking in your sidebar and did your blog get mention in Romantic Homes? Wow that is wonderful. I have to go buy a copy. Did you know about it? Yeah!!!
ReplyDeleteThe pressure... I can not even think! That purse has been all swoony! I really like Sweet Home Alabama. Something about a girl going home gets to me.
ReplyDeletehmmm..favorite romantic movie?? Somewhere in Time w/ Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour.
ReplyDeleteYou giveaway keeps getting better and better!! Hope I win!
Lori Lynn
I can only commit myself to a "favorite for a day". It may change tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteThe other day I watched "An Affair to Remember" again. I cry during the last scene every time. For today that will be my favorite.
Seriously though, thank you for giving us something sweet to think about , and for putting your lovely bag to the giveaway.
I'll choose a classic that is related to your choice of "Sleepless in Seattle". You'll recall that movie's references to "An Affair to Remember"(including a rendezvous at the Empire State Building). So, my choice is the film featuring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. I was woefully disappointed that Grant was not on the viewing deck on my one trip to New York!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day, Patty.
Oh sense and Sensibility has to be one of my favorites...I could watch it over and over!
ReplyDeleteThe first that came to mind was The Notebook. The handmade bag is just presh!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm I love "You've got mail",also "walk the line" i know its not a classic romance but i do find so much of it, especially the end, sweet!!!
ReplyDeleteLol Karen x
While you Were Sleeping! Or You've Got Mail. or Sleepless in Seattle. I'm a sucker for romantic comedies.
ReplyDeleteI agree it's Sleepless in Seattle - and I own it so I can watch anytime.

ReplyDeleteOh! That purse is so beautiful! I love the colors in it! Your giveaway keeps getting better and better!
ReplyDelete'You've Got Mail' is the one I could watch multiple time and have. I love the apartment decor, the story and especially the dogs name Brinkley. We named our yellow lab Brinkley and miss him so very much.
ReplyDeleteAh well, here's to fun romantic comedies which are my favorite kind.
I also loved 'It's Complicated' and of course 'Sleepless in Seattle'.
Sweet bag-love those colors!
ReplyDelete'Spendor in the Grass' with Sandra Dee & Warren Beaty always tears me up. And I did find 'The Notebook" very touching. They both break my heart!
Lets see, so many!! Sweet Home Alabama, was pretty good as far as a more curent. But the older movies just had something that the new ones don't.
ReplyDeleteThis give away is just the best, Thank you.

ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty purse, Patty. You have really made this giveaway special.
ReplyDeleteMy all time favorite is "Summer Place" with Sandra Dee and Troy Donahue. It is the first movie I saw with a real kiss in it (I think I was in 6th grade). Can't believe my Mom let me watch it.
Then, I don't know if they are so romantic, but I love dancing movies. Dirty Dancing, Grease, Footloose are my favorites.
Hi Patty - I just had a trip down memory lane via YOU. The first thing I ever sewed was a yo yo, at the knee of my great grandmother. I helped her thread her needles. (I couldn't understand why she couldn't do it! Now, I do.) I'm a Jane Austen fan - Pride and Prejudice or Sense and Sensibility are way up there on my list of romantic flicks!
ReplyDeleteFollowing you back and glad we're connected!
-Revi

Hi Patty, I just found you! My favorite romantic(smoldering!) movie would have to be "Wuthering Heights"-the newer version with Ralph Fiennes. Oh, those eyes!
ReplyDeleteI too love Hope Floats, but I think The Notebook is my favorite lilsis_75@hotmail.com
