adding a little vintage

I'm having so much fun adding little bits and pieces to this give away.  It's a good thing we only have a couple of more days to go or who knows what I might throw in.  Today I've added a couple of sweet vintage pieces to the pile...pyrex and an apron.


I love imagining the women before me who have used these pretty, practical things while showing love to their families.

The cute little red pyrex dish is just the perfect size for some fresh cut fruit and the pretty red polka dot apron brings back memories of some of my favorite television moms.


I thought it might be fun today to name your favorite TV couple from the past when you leave your comment.  I'll start us off...mine weren't actually a married couple but they are the perfect image for vintage family in my mind...Aunt Bea and Andy from the Andy Griffith show.  Their kitchen meals and front porch times just spell down home comfort and family love to me.
Okay, now it's your turn.

Tomorrow I'll be adding something handmade to the mix...

    middle son is Jon..which we still call Jon-Boy at times.

    Well I have to agree with you on the Aunt Bea and Andy. She looked so much like my Grandma. We were always sitting on the front porch in the evenings when I lived at home on the farm.

    The vintage pyrex dish and polka dot apron make me smile! Oh, Happy Day! I liked the Cunninghams from Happy Days! Many of the scenes were staged in the kitchen. Seems like I remember Marion bringing groceries through the kitchen back door. Those were the days!

    Oh Goodness, more goodies and red is one of my favorite colors. Actually the accent color in my kitchen so they will fit right in. There are so many couples in previous comments that I have to agree with them all. With my age I could even go back to the Cleaver's of Leave it to Beavers! Oops! did I admit to being that "old"!     I actually love Green Acres. I am a city girl (Baltimore and Philadelphia) and moved to Georgia and married a Country gentleman. We often laugh at our differences and our friends call him Oliver...

    Wow, it keeps getting better. I love the red pyrex and red apron!! My favorite tv couple from back in the day would have to be June and Ward Cleaver. I loved that show! But I love Mayberry too. And I loved I Love Lucy as well!!! Great giveaway Patty!!

    A fridgie!!!!! I have lusted after those for ages, and you are willing to part with one?!

    I like to name our pets after famous couples I like. Since we have a lot of small short lived pets I get to use lots of names.

    My favorites, George and Gracie Burns. They are way before my time, but thanks to modern technology we can watch them now. They were so much fun in front of and audience, and so sweet together.

    I love the little red pyrex container...red a small passion of mine. I have a small pink version of your pyrex container. I use mine all the time!!!!
    I actually have two favorite couples. I adored Lucy and her husband. Such a funny tv couple. I also really loved the Bewitched series with Sam and her husband Darrel. Good memories of my childhood!

    I love that Pyrex dish! I'm going to choose Ma and Pa Ingalls. Although Pa was the boss, they had to work together as a team to survive on the prairie.
