flip flop weather - fashion

It's hard for me to imagine that some of you just got fresh snow and we are in the high 80's here in Southern California.  Here I am breaking out my flip flops and some of you are sliding into snow boots.  I don't know which I really prefer in April.

Closing in on 90 degree temperatures this early in the year is not what I would have wanted.  But then
not seeing my garden in full bloom coffee cup in hand because of the white stuff would be pretty hard to take as well.  I'm sure somewhere in the middle would be perfect but since there isn't anything we can do to change the weather we might as well roll with it, right?

So now I'll show you my flip flops if you show me your cute snow boots.  Sound good?

Okay, me first.  I found these pretty sandals (similar) in January at Burlington Coat Factory.  I don't normally shop there but I had ordered some things online at Christmas that didn't quite work out and when I did the returns I ended up with a store credit.  I know...but what's a girl to do?  This girl promptly stalked the store for great deals and I found these flip flops for under $10.00.

I have been waiting for the weather to change so that I could wear them and now that it has, i don't want to take them off.  I slipped into my skinny jeans from Loft and threw on this adorable clearance tee (similar) by Rewind from Kohls (don't you love the lace cut out hemline?) and a little jewelry and headed out for quick meeting at a local coffee shop.

I know I sound like a broken record but accessories are the key to taking your everyday wear from just thrown on, to "doesn't she look cute today".  It doesn't even take a lot of variety in your jewelry (although I am never against just one more piece) to achieve this.

Without the cute tassel necklace that I spent all of five dollars for at Walmart (yes, Walmart) the top is adorable but with the necklace, it looks even better.  Add a pretty watch and some classic gold hoop earrings and you are ready to go.

I love when super comfy is also super cute, don't you.  Okay, I showed you mine so now it's your turn to show me yours. What shoes are you wearing today?

xo, Patty

  1. Flip flop weather is always my favorite and it's one of the many reasons we love Texas. We can wear them 7 or 8 months out of the year. As the weather gets hotter, I like to replace larger jewelry with smaller things because the big stuff makes me hot. Completely agree though that you have to have a little sparkle.. :)

  3. I have to go to Burlington to find these flip flops! I love the whole outfit so much. I couldn't get the link to work for the same top that you found, but there is a Kohls just sown the street. As for the weather, yes, we have a dusting of snow, it will be gone by tonight and next weeks forecast looks a lot like Spring :) I keep wondering of there is someplace that has perfect weather, 4-6 weeks of winter just cold enough for snow at Christmas, Spring coming in around Feb 1, and summers where 80 is the hottest it ever gets. While we are dreaming lets have an Autumn that lasts from September to December 15ish and the leaves stay on the trees in all their gorgeous color until the last day. Sounds heavenly, if I find that place I'll let you know (and you do the same ok?)

  4. Patty, I love your outfit. You always look cute. I do like that shirt's hem. Just enough some thing extra. I can not wear flip-flops....makes me crazy for that strap to be between my toes...I would tell every secret I ever knew if forced to wear them. LOL. But your little feet look sweet in those. Blessings for a fabulous weekend...I would like the warmer temps better. xoxo,Susie
