June, where did you go?

6/30/14

It's a hazy June morning here in Southern California and I am about to refill my coffee cup one more time before I attack my list of things to do today.

I was lucky enough to spend a couple of days with my mom last week which has me a bit behind around the house.  I don't mind, we had such a nice visit.  I forget sometimes how much I enjoy her company and what a blessing it is to have her close by.

It's hard to believe July is only a day away.  Where did June go?  I am not ready for the hot temperatures that these next few months bring and I have to admit I have already started to day dream about fall.

But not before I enjoy the last of the roses from the garden, plan a 4th of July BBQ, arrange a few play dates for my grandson, enjoy a couple of movies in the park and a trip or two to the beach.

And just to keep you updated...I ordered a new vent for the kitchen and found my light fixture.  I will be buying my paint this week and demo on the kitchen starts next Monday.  Woot, woot!  I am so excited.

It's going to be a busy July around here.  What does July have in store for you?

xo, Patty

  1. Hi Patty- that bread looks so good!

Yes- exactly. Where did June go? I'm with you! I'm excited for you getting a new kitchen- that's fantastic!

July for me has a front door to get painted and my art studio to paint as well. So lots of painting . . . but also a trip to a lavender festival with my dear friend and hopefully some swimming at the lake. (for my boys, not me . . . that's my reading time :) )

  2. I'm with you lady. I have no idea where it went. I actually was stunned to see the date on your post. I mean, I knew that Friday is the 4th but somehow that didn't translate in my head to June is gone! I'm hoping your July will be allow for my slowness and mine as well. We have more company coming, a short trip to the beach and lots of work on the front porch!

  3. Was that not just about the fastest June on record?! I swear just last week I was thinking, ah June, I'm going to enjoy every beautiful moment of it....ha ha, well so much for that! July will find me working in the studio trying to make stock for the shop for fall. Now while there is a lull is the best time to get ahead! It also is my last chance to get my daughter's wedding details in order. She's getting married August 9. I hope July doesn't whiz past as fast as June!

  4. well summer doesn't usually start until after the 4th of July around here (old Seattle joke) so I am just starting to get ready to plant my veggies and get outside and enjoy some sunshine. That cake/bread sure looks yummy!
