Hello Saturday. This last week has been a bit of a blur as I checked off quite a few things from my "in order to simplify my life" list. Bringing closure to commitments can be bittersweet.
This coming week will be the first in a quite some time where my focus will be on all things home and hearth. In true list maker fashion, I have begun a to do list for each room of our sweet cottage. Things to clean and all things decor.
First up, things to clean in the living room...
decluttering toys
washing windows
thinning out my magazine stash
wiping down walls
You know, the usual fun stuff that can build up over time. Then I have a rather short list of all things décor...
replace the faded lampshade
scout out a few thrift store paintings for the wall above the sofa.
I purposely chose this room to start with because it is already one of my favorite in the house and only needs some minor tweaking. (I am all about a little instant gratification to get me motivated.)
That's it for me. How was your week and what's on the horizon for the week to come?
xo, Patty

ReplyDeleteThat yellow jug is gorgeous! This week I need to finish up quilting commitments, then get ready for my mom's 80th birthday bash
ReplyDeleteI love your fall mantle.
ReplyDeleteLove the Fall banner! We have a party tonight for Chris next door. He is turning 21! And tomorrow spending it with my Mom. It is the 10 year anniversary of my Dad's death.

Well Patty, you have inspired me to get "fall cleaning" done. I have been dragging my heals. Love your fall mantle. The yellow jug is beautiful and your banner is fantastic ~ happy cleaning
ReplyDeleteSelfishly, I am so glad you're back to blogging more, Patty. I missed your regular posts! Your cheery & colorful scenes always brighten up my day.
ReplyDeleteYour whole mantel area looks lovely; it has the autumn colours included, but still looks bright and cheery. I need to do some things around the house as well, play with some knitting, and get together with a couple of friends.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time at home, Patty.

Enjoy your tweaking & the weekend
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to relax too :)

It sounds like you are on the right track, Patty. I am still working on sorting and decluttering here. Next week I hope to get a lot done- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteLove your fall bunting and your beautiful yellow jug.
ReplyDeleteWe worked in the yard today, getting it all raked, cut, mulched, bagged and watered down. My dh and his best friend hung up our outdoor Christmas lights and we cleared off the deck of the summer furniture, all the plant pots and then placed our lighted deer family, the lamp post and our big Angel in the garden. We are now set outside for Christmas and just in time. Snow is predicted tomorrow for our county. Hoping it stays away a bit longer. But if it comes, we are ready!
Making a list for each room is a great idea. Doing the whole house at once can get overwhelming. Your home looks cozy and warm.
ReplyDeleteThis week I'll be doing some sewing and then heading to Vancouver for a few days.
Your photography is amazing, Patty! I love the bright colored accessories on your mantel. :)
