this blog and one more chance to enter the give away

4/29/13

I have been asked a few times in the last couple of weeks what kind of blogging I do.  How would I describe my blog?  Having done this a couple of years you would think I would have a quick response but I kind of stumbled with my answer.

It isn't a crafting blog although I do share what I'm creating...

It isn't a decorating blog even though I do show you pictures of our home...

It isn't a gardening blog just because I bombard you with pictures of my pretty flowers...

I love taking pictures but it certainly isn't a photography blog...

Lifestyle?  No...
Cooking?  A big heck to the no on that one...
Spiritual?  Not entirely...

It got me thinking.  How would I describe this blog?  There is really no rhyme or reason to my writing.  Sometimes I feel the need to share something that is weighing on my heart and other times I just feel like chatting, rambling on about this or that and nothing in particular.

My interests change with the seasons or with whatever is peaking my curiosity at any give time.  I call myself a jack of all trades and master of none.  My mom calls me scattered, my friends think I over commit.  I like to think of myself as curious.  I can be heard to say "I think I could do that", most any time I am out and about.  Can I?  Sometimes yes and sometimes no, but I am willing to give it a try (which would attest to my pack rat craft room).

So my question to you is two part.  How would you describe this blog and why do you come back?  (Remember niceness counts...)

Okay, remember to leave your comment on the original give away post for another chance to win.  I will be drawing a winner tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

xo, Patty

  5. I like your blog for the photos, also you have a mellow (calming) writing style. I think your blog is about you. But if I were to label it I would probably say "lifestyle" for the lack of anything more specific.

  7. I love it because I, too, am scattered. I love your beauutiful garden (especially because you are about 6 to 8 weeks ahead of our seasons.) I think gardening, crafting, and antiquing are much more important than cleaning.

  8. The colors are catchy ... everything seems beautiful, but homey. And to the person above that said 'calming', I second that. Your blog exudes a peaceful R & R. We can always use a bit more of that.

  10. I'd describe your blog, and most of the others I read as "a slice of life" - bits and pieces of the things that make up real life.
I'm a new follower, but I like all that you talk about.

  14. Wishing you a wonderful Anniversary tomorrow. I hope there's a wonderful celebration planned.

As far as your blog: I think Lorrie's "a slice of life" description of your blog is right on.
I love that you share your garden, sewing, and the love of being a grandma. It truly feels like visiting with a friend with lots in common. Take care and again... Happy Anniversary.

  16. I love your blog because it is always a colorful and inspiring surprise. Why limit yourself to one or two subjects on your blog. We are all very complex, with many interests. Your blog is a warm and comfortable place to visit, it makes me smile and I always feel welcome :)

  17. I love the photos, and the fact that you're 'real'. I read mostly Quilt blogs, and my favorites are the one's who give us a glimpse into the blogger's life, not just a list of quilt projects. I love to take photos, and I use my blog as a travelogue of sorts! Keep on doing what you're doing......

  19. I come back because it is homey and normal, lol....it's comfortable. If you lived on my street you are the sort where my little grandson ( 3 1/2 ) would knock on the door while we were out for a walk, and give you a flower we picked for you from my yard and you'd probably give him a hug and a cookie.
And then we might steal your little grand for an hour and bring him back to play for awhile.
