It seems impossible to be headlong into December but we are. I spent most of the weekend unpacking totes of treasures only to pack them back away. My decorating, like my life this year, seems to be a little more simplified than years past.
I still love the season but I am fervently trying to focus on what truly has meaning to me as I set about bringing Christmas to our little cottage.
I am not quite ready to share it with you yet as the clean up is still in process but I am close.
These pictures are from my little treasure hunting adventure last Friday. I had the best time and plan on returning to the next Vintage Marketplace in the Spring. I haven't had a chance to snap pictures of what I brought home but hopefully that will come soon, too.
I am off to bible study and already have a few returns to make but then it's back to creating a December nest that will hopefully be a part of many new Christmas memories to come.
xo, Patty

ReplyDeleteHi Patty. I can't wait to see what you found at the market place. I was so sorry to have missed your call! I was home! But in the garage, setting up. If you had called my cell, I would have gotten the call. Darn.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
xo Kris

ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Leslie
I was actually thinking of you today. I am missing my Dad a lot these days and said a prayer for you. I haven't decorated this year...not sure why...or if I will...I may take your example and simplify and begin anew.
ReplyDeletePatty, I love the pictures...such lovely things.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your Christmas decorations and I so understand about decorating with what is important to you. I think each year our focus is in a different place and I think that is really okay.
Blessings this day!

I love Christmas, with all the lights and pretty things... I can't wait to see the rest either..Happy Holidays with love Janice
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about Christmas too. Although...I still put up fun treasures from the past but I'm trying to highlight the reason for the season. I have two mangers that I display. One of them I received from my parent's when I got married and the other one I inherited from her when she passed away a few years back. I don't know what I'd do without the hope of Jesus Christ. ~Amy
ReplyDeleteYes I think simple is my mode this year as well. I'm going with a tabletop tree that hopefully be out of our puppy's reach. She's been such a destructive little/big girl that I'm not willing to chance her stealing ornaments from a tree that she could have easy access to. Enjoy your decorating and holiday preps. I haven't brought down the totes yet, but soon.
ReplyDeleteI love December about the birth of Jesus
ReplyDeleteHave a fab week

Patty,
ReplyDeleteI love how our Seasonal decorating evolves through the years!
Each year, I send more and more of off~cast items to our Church Thrift Shop!
I hear squeals of delight when I donate...and the $ale of items benefits the Missions of our Church, which is my delight!
I'll be back soon to see your Christmas Nest!
Fondly,
Pat
I love everything in your photos. I can't wait to see when you've got everything done! :)
ReplyDeleteRobyn
I only put out about half of my decorations this year but for somewhat different reasons :). I love the items that you have posted. Can't wait to see the finished look!
ReplyDeletePatty,
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the Mother Mary statue, it's beautiful. I was noticing all the red decorations for Christmas. They are so festive, and I really like the "JOY." Enjoy the season!
