I woke to a beautifully cool and cloudy morning today.
Pulled out my recipe for the Pioneer Woman's Chicken Tortilla Soup and got busy dicing and chopping.
Nothing like sitting inside on a drizzly autumn day, stack of magazines by my side and a bowl of hot soup to keep me company.
How was your Saturday?
xo, Patty
Patty, you make me want to cook some chicken tortilla soup. My day was busy, my dh and I bought 20 books for $27 at a sale to benefit the public library, then I exercised at the health club.
ReplyDeleteHey there, I made chicken soup today also and just posted about it.
ReplyDeleteChicken tortilla soup sounds good and I bet it made your house smell good.
Our first rain is expected tomorrow evening with promises of snow in the high elevations. We'll see. It's always a pleasure to read what you're up to. Take care and enjoy your drizzly day.
The soup sounds delicious, Patty. I'm doing a clear-out of my closet in my tiny foyer. It's surprising what one finds!

I have got to go out and get a chicken, or at least some parts, and make myself a pot of soup! Today it was in the 70's again, but it can drop down low any time. xo
ReplyDeleteWe had a gorgeous sunny day here in Oklahoma, started out cool then warmed up. I love autumn Saturdays whether they're cloudy or sunny, always puts me in the mood to bake & relax.
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Carol
What a wonderful way to spend a drizzley Saturday!!

I've got the fixings for tomato and carrot soup here. We had gorgeous weather in New York City and I spent the afternoon enjoying being outdoors. Grocery, post office, bank and cleaner. Felt so good to get lots of things done. Tonight I'm enjoying blog visits and some magazines to catch up on.
ReplyDeleteMom has made that soup before, and it's delicious!! When I read your post a little earlier this evening, it gave me the craving for soup, as well! It's a cold and cloudy day here, too. So by the hubby's suggestion, I whipped together some tomato soup to satify our cravings and soothe the soul:) Our family just left after a wonderful stay, and it's always hard to say goodbye. It's been a good day!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Leslie
I love Chicken Tortilla soup - perfect for a cool fall day! I went to two library book sales today, two loads of laundry, a little housework, finished painting a shelf for my kitchen, raked leaves, and relaxed on the couch while looking through some cookbooks. :-)
ReplyDeleteSoup is the best on rainy chilly days. I make soups up as I go . Enjoy yourself. Smiles, Susie
ReplyDeleteoh, i days like that. perfect for a great book read or magazine. your soup sounds delicious!!

ReplyDeleteI seems you had a wonderful time. this year i decided to do handmade haloween decoration at home. still i'm struggling finish all those. :)
Great to hear its cooling down...when we left for vacation it was in the 90's...we are enjoying an "real" Autumn vacation here...have a great evening!!
ReplyDeleteSounds perfect and I must check out her recipe.
ReplyDeleteHi Patty,
ReplyDeleteSOUP DU JOUR (soup of the day)is definitely CHICKEN, which I also made yesterday (Saturday)as my daughter woke up with a sore throat and achy ears. I totally agree with you; nothing like a stack of your favourite magazines, a pot of soup simmering on the stove and the pitter patter of raindrops on the window pane!
Have a cozy weekend!
Poppy
That sounds good!! I went on a quilt shop hop today with my girlfriend. We had a blasT. I loved the rain!!!
ReplyDeleteXO Kris
I've got "make soup" on my to do list for today too - yours sounds so yummy. Just plain old leek & potato here!
ReplyDeleteMy Saturday was good too - got lots of sewing done :-)
Happy Sunday,
xx
Even without the drizzle, that soup soups perfect for fall and the cooler temperatures. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteI must be the last person on earth to never make any of her recipes :)
ReplyDeleteWell the weather is just gorgeous here so we've been outside working in the yard and sitting on the porch!
You know how to spend a Saturday. :) Mine was lovely. Gorgous day spent puttering about my Fall home. Nothing better! Kit
ReplyDeleteI love rainy days, Patty. They give us an excuse to slow down, enjoy the moment. The soup sounds terrific. That and a nice nap would make me very happy! :)
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
