a muggy monday

9/8/14

At the risk of this blog beginning to sound like the weather channel, I won't tell you that it is still hot and muggy around these parts or that every city around us has had a good soaking of rain but us.  And I won't tell you that I obsessively peeked ahead at the seven day forecast and noticed that we will hit the 100 degree mark again next Saturday.  No, I won't tell you all that...

Instead, I'll tell you that I went to Hobby Lobby with my girl friends last week and bought a couple of new things for fall decorating,  I'm excited to start decorating for autumn but first I want to show you my finished dining room in it's every day state.

Which I can tell you is officially, one hundred percent done!  Woot, woot.  I am going to run to Trader Joe's for some fresh flowers and I'll take a few pictures to share with you this week.

I watched my grandson's this weekend so not much got done, other than an early morning soccer game, but that's okay as the weather had us ducking for cover inside anyway.  My husband (the most un-tekky person on the planet) discovered that his phone has a recording device on it so he sneakily recorded us just being normal in the living room.  Boy oh boy is our house ever noisy and chaotic.  It's no wonder I'm losing my mind most days! Ha...Ha.

That's all that's going on around here.  How about in your neck of the woods?

xo, Patty

  1. Good morning Patty! We got that rain here, but not nearly as much as I would have liked. Greg was up at the lake fishing, and it poured there!!
Looking forward to seeing your Ta Da!!!
This weather makes me want to stay IN!!!!!

  2. It's sad that you didn't get that much needed rain into your own garden. We aren't expecting rain till November. Everyone here is hoping for a "normal" winter with rain. SO TIRED OF THE DROUGHT.

  3. Sorry your weather is still so hot. It is now beautiful here in northern IL. The heat and humidity have finally left us and we're now having weather in the 70's with low humidity. The AC has been off for days and the fresh breezes are coming in through all the open windows and doors. I'll try to send some of this your way! Just remember...in a couple of short months when I'm freezing my butt off and so sick of winter already (even though we'll have a long way to go), I'll be envying YOUR weather! ;-)

  5. It has been in the mid 70's and sunny here for the weekend and today. Of course the trade off is you get an earlier Spring and a much later Autumn and hardly any winter right? When I'm crying in my soup about the cold and snow you'll still have a garden. I can't wait to see the finished room. I can barely comprehend an actual finished room since I don't have any in my house ;)

  6. Hello,
Yay! Happy for you that you finished the dining room!
Looking forward to seeing it, and also some of your Fall décor.
It's hard to feel Fall-ish when the days are so warm... but if we don't relish Fall .. then before you know it, it will be gone.

    Smiles :)
