hello Saturday

Hello Saturday...can we talk vent?

Okay, seriously?  I am so over this summer.  We were in the triple digits again yesterday and don't expect relief anytime soon.  The weatherman did say we could expect a cool down by mid week and we should only be in the mid 90's.  Really...a cool down?

And to make matters worse, I've started to see the most beautiful fall decor all over the place.  I would love to jump on the band wagon but at this point, I think I would be laughed right out of the neighborhood.

My head knows that this is perfectly normal for Southern California but my heart keeps reminding me that our summer started in April this year and that is not normal.  Add to that the fact that we haven't had a lick of rain in eons (okay, a little drama here) and you have the makings of one hot, cranky, whiny girl.

Sorry I didn't mean to monopolize the conversation...what would you like to talk vent about today?

xo, Patty

  1. I don't have anything to vent about because it is a lovely and quiet morning up here in No Cal. It has been a little on the sticky side, but at least life is good. Enjoy your weekend. Your home looks fresh and pretty!

    1. Thank you for the reality check...lol It seems the older I get the more the heat just zaps my energy and mojo. Thanks for the sweet words about my home. Your guest room is still one of my favorite inspiration rooms.

  2. Oh, our summer has been terribly hot too. Hot and dry, I am so grateful that we have a good well, because I have had sprinklers going almost very single day. I want to do a little something on my front porch now that the seasons are changing. I'm debating on pumpkins or apples.
    Have a wonderful weekend.
    Connie :)

  3. Hey Patty-

I don't blame you for venting- that sounds miserable to me.

    1. Its hard when the weather is so hot and you get irritable. I know how you feel. I live in Australia and tomorrow is the 1st day of Spring. I cannot wait for some warm days, its been such a long, cold winter. I hope you get that cool change very soon.

  4. The road menders who dug up the road at the end of our road so we are marooned. And have started work again 8.30 on a Sunday. That sounds really unpleasantly hot.

  5. LOL! Oh Patty, I had to drop down and see what you said you were "venting" about. I'm not laughing at you, but with you because it's like you took the words right out of my mouth! I have been complaining about the summer and lack of rain too…I live in Seattle remember? Well, the summers are beautiful here, but it certainly isn't the rainy season. When everyone says it rains in Seattle all the time, they are referring to the winter months. For a few weeks we got to 90! I know that's not hot compared to Las Vegas where I'm from, but no one here has air conditioning…you just don't need it, so you suffer through those few weeks of afternoon hot sun. Ugh…I adore fall and the cooler temps. Fortunately, it has cooled to the 70's again, and we've had a bit of rain. I'm am trying to hold out buying mums and such for as long as I can. I have a summer wreath and a fall wreath both of which I made…I like my fall wreath so much better! Anyway…I've been venting right along with you. Have a great week!

  6. I'm with you, heat and me do not get along. We have been lucky that the last couple of days have been in the 70's. Supposed to go back up a bit but I think we have seen the end of the really hot temps. Thank heavens! Hang in there. Kit
