"tada" moments

I am two days into the five day job of painting my kitchen cabinets white and wondering if I will ever feel my arms again.  Seriously, I knew this was going to be a huge job and everyone warned me that painting over red was not for the faint of heart but I had no idea what a tole it would take on this 53 year old body.

Now ask me if I could go back and leave the upper cabinets red, would I?  Do I regret even starting?

No.way.  Even in their less than lovely two coats of primer state right now, I see the beauty.  The kitchen already looks tons lighter, brighter and happier.

I am resisting the urge to show you my progress because I don't want to spoil my hard earned "tada" moment.  Instead I'll just show you my pretty daisies and invite you to come back on Friday when I'll share with you how the cabinets turned out.

xo, Patty

  2. I once painted kitchen cabinets and I feel your pain. Red is one of the hardest colors to cover with paint and just in case you ever feel the need to paint again....yellow is the other one. I will never paint anything red or yellow for just those reasons. I am sure it will be worth it all in the end though.

  10. Oh Patty. GOOD LUCK! That sounds like a tumultuous job but oh, it will be SOOOO worth it. I did that once, too. The cabinets were dark wood. They looked fabulous when they were all white. I was soooooo happy I did it.

I have to paint the living room soon and I am NOT looking forward to that but alas, it has to be done.

Can't wait to see the finished product of your kitchen makeover. Susan
