school supplies and bonne bell lip gloss

7/14/14

Is it just me or is this summer flying by?  It's mid July already.  Yikes!  I don't know how it is where you live, but our kids start school mid August which means there is only one more "real" month of summer left around here.

I've noticed the big box stores have their school supplies out, front and center.  It's all I can do to resist buying one of everything for myself.  I have always loved a new box of crayons, an unused pink eraser, a new notebook, fresh college ruled paper and a set of colored dividers.

The new school year always held such promise.  The perfect time to reinvent yourself with a new wardrobe, a fresh hair style and a big roll of shiny Bonne Bell lip gloss.

What is your favorite new school year memory?  I'd love to hear...

xo, Patty

  2. My favorite memories are every year, Mom's sewing machine humming away with favorite flying and my mom's head bent over her work!! She had 6 kids so she was busy making shirts for 4 boys and dresses for 2 girls!! I loved the smell of brand new fabric and loved all the corduroy!! Haha! Don't see much corduroy anymore but I loved it!! It was a good warm, practical cloth for the cold winters walking to school a mile away!! :D

  3. When I see things for school on sale. I will get some tablets and crayons for here. If I were a kid and people were talking about school, here in July, I would be crying. LOL. I loved reading Carolyn's memory of school time. xoxo,Susie

  5. Yes...summer is certainly speeding right on by!!
I also notice school supplies in the weekly circulars. It's that time of year :)

I always loved to find pretty paper to make book covers with. It sure beat looking at a boring text book ***haha**.

    Happy Monday!!

  6. I agree - I always have and probably always will love a new box of Crayolas!! Today when I saw all of the school supplies when I was out shopping, I was tempted to buy new pencils, new pens, paper, etc. It just definitely signals a new season of life. I guess that I will never outgrow it.

  8. I loved school shopping! Both as a child and then taking my girls to buy those fancy notebooks, a pretty backpack and all the pens, pencils and school clothes they needed. I homeschooled for 5 years and we still always went school shopping:>)

  10. I loved the beginning of each and every school year as a student and as a teacher. There's just something new and promising about the beginning of school. When I was little, I loved the new crayons and construction paper. And don't forget the new school clothes!

I can't wait to see how it's going with your kitchen. Thanks for the encouragement with my bedroom. :)
