I wasn't sure what I would find but I was sure there had to be a bloom or two out there...and I was right.
I purchased a few pansies before Thanksgiving to freshen up the flower pots and thankfully their smiling faces were just waiting for me to go outside and say hello.
These pink and white daisies are troopers, as well. I love the way they contrast against the reddened winter bushes.
Once the holidays are over, I will start the long clean up process out here and my imagination will once again be in full swing as I begin to plot and plan my springtime blooms.
But for now, it just felt good to be outside in the garden, the chill in the air just seemed to make the stroll even more special. It really does feed me...
Is there anything still in bloom where you are? Or are you enjoying a snowy winter wonderland? There is such a gentle beauty in the winter garden. Don't you agree?
So pretty! My window boxes are sitting empty because I didn't have a chance to fill them with sweet winter blooming pansies. I will be enjoying yours though :)
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing blooming here. Well, other than my happiness! I did have some daffodils bloom in the fall though. How weird is that?
ReplyDeleteno blooms here. boo hoo about that. i did try to find some pansies to plant in my planters ...but the area greenhouses were totally out. no clue why? i always love pansies they look like little faces blowing in the wind & snow. so pretty. i will have to enjoy yours for now. (:
ReplyDeleteI have a few fall flowers left, Chrysanthemum, Mexican Sage, some red salvia, and pineapple sage.
ReplyDeleteI do have some Paper White narcissus starting to bloom. Those seem way too early, but I say that every year.
I'm somewhere between blooms and snow. Some of the later would be welcome, just to pretty-things-up outside, but it's been milder than usual. Oh, well. That means I don't have to shovel! ❄

Your flowers look so pretty! My garden disappeared under snow for a while this morning! Though the snow didn't stay,some more is forecast. I look at the flower beds and plan the spring planting, and buy some seed catalogues to browse through in the meantime.

ReplyDeleteSuch pretty flowers! It's hard to think of flowers in the midst of the Christmas season. Right now we are having nice weather in the 40s and 50s. Rare to have snow at Christmas :)
