blue ball jar

11/16/11

I've wanted a blue ball jar for the longest time so when I saw this one in an antique store I was thrilled.  After a moments debate at spending $7.00 for an old jar, I quickly snatched it up.

I can already imagine it filled with fresh flowers from the garden in the spring or vintage Christmas balls in the winter.  It's amazing how such a little thing can brighten my day.

Between the jar, my thrift store oil painting and my hobby lobby birdhouse, I can't help but smile every time I pass this little corner.

Considering you can't even buy a fast food lunch for what I paid for it, I would say it was definitely worth every penny!

  5. I have a few of these and I just adore them. I have some 'plain' ones dating back to 1930's...My husband keeps asking me when I bring another one home. 'dont you have enough?'..NOPE..One day I was able to pick up an ENTIRE box for 2 dollars at a yard sale..I'm amazed at the prices I'm able to get here in Ontario Canada....some have even gave them to me for free..Yahoooooooo....lol

  7. Love your aqua jar. I have quite a few of them myself that I've picked up here and there at thrift stores and garage sales. I use them year round too. I even scored a whole box of smaller aqua jars with glass lids and that flip over wire thing... FOR TWO DOLLARS! I used some of them last year as gifts with a paper white bulb and rocks for forcing.
