hello saturday

11/23/13

Hello Saturday.  My what a difference a week makes.  The weather has definitely taken a turn toward winter and my instinct to hibernate has kicked into full gear.  I have busy surrounding myself with all things warm and cozy.

I went to the library with my grandson after school this week and stocked up on books to read while I curl up on the sofa, wrapped up in a quilt.  I restocked the hot chocolate station, filled up my tea bag jar, made sure there are logs by the fireplace and have been baking up a storm.  I even made a big pot of chili for dinner last night.

Now all I need is a quiet afternoon, a warm pair of sweats and a big toasty fire and I'd say this day will just about be perfect.  I just love this time of the year.

I hope you are feeling a sense of contentment today, too.

xo, Patty

  2. Please show your hot chocolate station! I love to see these things. Cold here too. Covered with an afghan in my chair and trying to stay warm.

  3. Your books look delicious, and curling up with a quilt sounds like a great idea - it's gotten very chilly here, too.

  5. Chili sounds good on a cold day. I may just make some hot cranberry punch, and hunker down with a book today.

  6. I have a quilt on my lap now. We are enjoying coffee while watching This Old House which is a Sunday morning ritual here. We have to head out later this morning to purchase a Christmas gift for our Granddaughter from LA. She will be here Wednesday. I like to send their Christmas packages down with them rather than pay shipping charges. Then it's back to the sewing machine.... Have a wonderful cozy Sunday.

  8. The temperatures dropped significantly during the night so I'm hibernating as well today too. Reading blogs, playing with photos, cat on my lap, hot mug of coffee at my side. Not such a bad day!
