Lemons and Larkspur: sunflowers and burlap

I went to a baby shower yesterday for the daughter of one of my good friends. The weather was picture perfect and so was the theme, sunflowers and burlap.

I love attending events where the attention to detail is obvious right down to the little bows and yellow duckies they attached to each paper plate. I bet you wish you could see a picture of them but guess who didn't think to bring her big girl camera?

I stole these from my friend Jackie's (the grandma to be) instagram photos because I had to share the adorableness of it all.

I have been working with her daughter Emily on a little bit of custom sewing for the nursery. These were the fabrics she chose (another instagram photo). I'll share the results when the room is all put together, she has promised me a photo shoot.

I had just enough left over fabric to surprise her with this little ruffled pillow for the crib.

It's been a while since my last baby shower (my grandbabies are four and five now) and I had forgotten just how much stuff one little baby girl could possible need. Instead of cards with our gifts they had us include our favorite children's book with a message to the new baby. By the time the presents were all opened she had a nice stack of books to read to the little one. What a great idea!
