monday morning perspective

5/6/13

What a difference a weekend makes.  I have had a few days to adjust, to make plans, and to start enjoying the quiet mornings in my newly emptied nest.

This rainy Monday morning brings with it a whole new perspective.

Don't think me callous but I have already started clearing out and planning a new guest room slash grandkid room in my daughters old bedroom.  My husband has started moving his musical instruments into my grandsons room which will now be his music room and I have already gutted and revamped the upstairs bathroom in my mind!

Thank you all for your wise and encouraging words.  My relationship with my daughter has already taken on a whole new dynamic and it's good to see her spreading her wings and caring for her little family.

This month is all about purging and organizing in anticipation of this new chapter in my life.  I have so many hopes and dreams still waiting to be lived out.  I hope you all will join me on the journey.

xo, Patty

  2. It's always so traumatic to have a child leave the nest but as the saying goes - let them spread their wings. Can't wait to see what you do next.

    Have a great week!

  4. "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you HOPE AND A FUTURE." Jer 29:11 MAKING PLANS is all about believing in that future! xo God bless! ~Sally

  7. Hi Patty, I'm very excited for you! I know you'll have so much fun revamping the rooms plus you may even find more spare time to pursue your interests. Love your garden, what beautiful flowers. WE can't begin to plant for several more weeks yet-snow could still visit us.
    Have a great afternoon.

  10. You're not callous at all! You're just moving on with the next phase of your life in a positive manner. I'll be going through the same thing starting July 1st, so we'll be on this ride together. :-) Are all those beautiful flowers and gardens yours?

  11. I so love the flowers and look forward to seeing summer blooms here. I 'm sure none of us think anything of the sort. You've done so well but it's difficult living with our adult children...there comes a time for them to move on...and it's just so nice to have your own space and just do what you want without having to take others into consideration. Enjoy!! Joan
