It has been so hard to watch and absorb the devastation that Moore Oklahoma is facing today in the wake of that massive tornado. I cannot even imagine what it must be like to come out of a cellar and see your home leveled with even the property lines and neighborly fences gone.


The thought of children being trapped in their school is especially hard to stomach.


This is not the first tragedy we have faced as a nation this year. It seems we are in a period of testing and trial with one blast coming on the heals of the last.


We live in a land of abundance, we are a country of survivors and I have no doubt we will come together as a nation to help re-build the very heartland of America but what can we as individuals a half a continent away, do to offer a tangible hand right now?


I read this post from the Pioneer Woman who is an Oklahoman, with a list of places to donate to.


And of course, we can pray.

    It's storming here. Has been for days. We're two hours from the devastation. I raised my children and went to college right outside Moore, in Norman, OK. It is Central OK. Moore has been through this about 4 times now. They build it back and another tornado comes through and tears it up again. Yes, pray for more survivors.

    Very hard to imagine what some of those families are dealing with today. Some may have lost their child and home. Can not imagine the heartache. Sending prayers.

    I'm 25 minutes in both directions of the tornado from Newcastle to Moore. It was no fun....Now we are trying to raise money to house displaced animals on our 10 acres until they can be reunited with their owners. Everyone in Oklahoma appreciates your prayers. We drove right by the devastation this morning and this afternoon at the origination point and it is unbelievable. Tomorrow we hope to spend our day volunteering helping them round up the pets running around everywhere.

    Praying with you...I agree it is hard to watch. But as you stated American's come together and help each other, that is what makes us special.

    Yes. I had to turn it off for a while. How those parents must feel. Just unimaginable. Okay please come over and show me how to use my camera better. Of course I need good lens' too I think.

    Can't possibly imagine how dreadful it must be to live through something like that. Our hearts go out to everyone there. It makes me wonder when the tragedy's are going to end this year. We can only prayer.

    I haven't stopped praying for the lost, the deceased, the injured, the family members or the rescue workers... They all need our prayers.. Beautiful post..

    The images have made me weep. Lots of prayers going up for these dear people, and just wow at all of the volunteers who are there.
