PRETTY PAISLEY PRINT - fashion at 50

I met a couple of my girlfriends for breakfast and a little life catch up conversation last week at a local restaurant.  It had been a while since we got together and it felt really good to see them and to hear how their families are doing.  I have always enjoyed the company of women so these times are really important to me.

These particular friends and I have know each other for many years so they would not have batted an
eye if I showed up in my gardening grubbies but since I don't get to see them very often I thought it was the perfect time to wear this pretty lace sleeved paisley print t-shirt (same) that I ordered from JCPenney.

It is a little more fitted than I am used to but the fabric has a bit of spandex in it so it holds it's shape nicely without being too clingy.  I paired it with these dark wash skinny jeans (same) and my favorite blue espadrille slides (same).

For jewelry I kept it simple with a pretty gold tassel necklace (similar), a gold stacked bracelet (similar) (similar), gold drop earrings (similar) and watch (same and at a great sale price).

I love a top with a pretty print on it like this paisley t-shirt because accessorizing it doesn't take much thought, just keep it simple.

Speaking of gathering with girlfriends, I don't know it I ever told you what a fan of the cooking network, especially the shows that introduce you to the hosts friends and family.  Even though I am not the greatest cook in the world I do find inspiration in the hospitality and friendships they encourage.  In fact, I think I'll work on a blog segment featuring my favorite food show life hacks and invite a few friends over to join in.

What do you think?  Want to join me?  Wouldn't that be great? how to make that happen.  Stay tuned...

xo, Patty

Here are a couple of posts where I've worn these blue slide wedges...white jeans and breezy shirt and summer shorts styled six ways.

Shop my look here...

  1. Absolutely love this Patty. :)

  2. Beautiful top, I like the lace detail!

  3. I love paisley! The top at the Penney's website shows a plain front.. I like the paisley front better. I have a large chest so don't like to wear plain t-shirts very often. And I"m in love with those dark wash skinny jeans! love love love them but too pricey for me... darn.... I'm a seamstress from way back (clothes) but haven't made anything for years (to wear)... am starting to think on making a pair of skinny jeans with just a stretch waist and add pockets... I'm sure would be doable and not that hard and much more affordable. I love how your pose for your photos too! I'm not much into recipes and the food networks, though I did love "Chopped". Good show. I used to enjoy cooking somewhat but don't so much anymore. Anything fast and easy is what I like,..... or eating leftovers is even better! I do like to make gluten free desserts though as I have to eat totally gluten free.

  4. Those jeans are perfect for you!
