PINTEREST INSPIRED FRIDAY - fashion at 50

It's been awhile since I shared a pinterest inspired outfit with you so I thought I'd do that today.  Truth be told most of my outfits are pinterest or blog inspired in one way or another every day, but today I'll share with you the actual pin and what I came up with as my.interpretation of the look

white jeans and black blouse

Today I'm styling white jeans and a black sheer blouse based on inspiration I found on my pinterest
board, "My Style".

I love the way the inspiration photo styled this combination with multi strand pearls and leopard print.  It is a classic yet trendy look.  She opted for a full tuck and a leopard belt which is such a polished and sophisticated look.

I chose to do a partial tuck with my black blouse.  I like to do this especially with a long or full blouse (similar) (similar) like the one I'm wearing.  I think it works well with my white straight leg jeans (similar) (similar) and is generally more flattering to a softer figure (the extra backside coverage is never a bad thing).  The chunky heel black sandals (similar) I'm wearing help to make my legs appear longer.  I scored my pearl necklace at the thrift store for a couple of dollars but I've link a similar option here, here and here.

white jeans and black top with leopard purse

This outfit is one that will take me from summer to fall without any problem simply by changing out the sandals for closed toe pumps or even some black booties and adding a scarf or poncho when the weather cools.  I love clothes that serve multi seasonal purposes like these.

You'll notice that most of my staple wardrobe pieces are transitional.  I find that spending a little more on quality basics that will work almost year round is actually a money saver in the long run.  I have washed these white jeans a ton this summer and they have held up beautifully.

It doesn't get much more classic than white, black and leopard, right?  Do you own a leopard bag, belt or shoes?  If you don't, you really should, it adds a pop of fun to any outfit.

Happy Friday my friends!

xo, Patty

I've styled these same white jeans and a floral top here.

  1. I love this outfit. You look ready to go anywhere! I own leopard flats and they are my favorites. I think they add a touch of the unexpected to so many outfits. Very cute!

  4. LOVE this look! I always seem to gravitate towards black or white when I'm shopping for something to wear. You matched the Pinterest outfit so perfectly and yes... the bag does add a nice pop. Love that necklace too. I went to our local thrift store yesterday looking for a necklace, but nothing jumped out at me, though they had tons of them. See you've inspired me to actually go jewelry shopping! I miss your FB group too and may pop over to just say hi to everyone! (once I find time to "style" the new printed peplum-ish top I got).

  5. Patty,
    Love this look, dear friend!
Just yesterday, I was out looking at fashion for Autumn.
The three quarter length sleeves are making their way into our area
in an array of beautiful Autumnal hues!
I grew up in the sixties, very influenced by cruelty to African and
Safari animals and I just can not do animal prints.
Keep this Fashion Flair posts coming our way!
    Fondly,
    Pat
