Isn't this white lace top pretty? I found it on an impromptu stop at Goodwill last week for $5.95. The
tag on it says Honey Hoo design by Korea (similar) (similar) and the only thing I could find when I googled it was that it is a South Korean design. It's well made with a zipper back plus it is fully lined which is such a bonus in a lace top.
The distressed jeans are from Loft (same and on sale for 40% off) and the nude patent pumps (same) are from Nordstrom. I love the bit of sophistication the shoes give to this otherwise casual look. I resisted them for the longest time because I just didn't see myself wearing them all that often but now that I have them, I have to find reasons not to reach for them. They add just the right touch of class and sophistication to whatever I'm wearing.
I chose to keep the jewelry fairly simple with a pretty mixed stone necklace (similar) (similar) and simple gold hoop earrings.
I think the contrast of ripped with delicate is what I love best about this look. It speaks to the tomboy in me. This is definitely a look that I will have on repeat this summer and into fall.
Don't you love an outfit that just makes you feel great? It's amazing how feeling good about how you look can change your whole attitude. Sometimes I wonder what these fashion segments provide and worry what this little bit of fluff is offering the world, but then I remember how important a positive self image is and how it reminds us to take time for ourselves because we are worth it. Never let someone else rob you of the joy you get in presenting your best self to the world.

ReplyDeleteLove the look and that top is so darling. I've never worn "distressed" jeans unless they were my own that just got that way! I do like the look though and the pumps really add to it. I have shoe envy too as can't wear pumps or any sort of heels anymore... it is kind of hard to feel glammed up with flat shoes on.. but a kicky little sandal helps sometimes. Your gladiator sandals would look cute with that outfit too!
