Ask me if my painting got done this week? No, not yet. I have the paint in the shed but I just don't have the umph it takes to get started.
Honestly, I am afraid of the snowball affect it will have on the rest of the house. You know how that goes, right? Once that roller hits the wall there is no going back. And then once you finish one room the others start to look pretty drab in comparison. Then once all the walls are painted everything else starts to look a little dated and dingy.
I think I'll make the rest of the changes and hold off on the paint. The yellow walls aren't looking so bad to me right now.
I have a lot of fun things coming up that I need to prepare for so maybe I'll paint next month or the month after that or the month after that...
Tell me I'm not alone in my procrastinating. Have a wonderful weekend!
xo, Patty
You are not alone, Patty. Painting is not my favorite thing. I have one side of my cabinets painted on the inside and still need to do the other side! Ugh...
ReplyDeleteYou are not alone! My basement; enough said.
ReplyDeleteSince I hate wall painting I put it off as long as i can!!! Do something you enjoy today instead!!!
ReplyDeleteI actually don't mind painting! Usually it takes a room getting painted for that same room to get the good cleaning it needs. Because furniture then needs to be moved and then cleaned under. Maybe I should repaint more often!
ReplyDeleteOh no, not alone for sure! I have a bathroom to paint and the paint in there looks better every day!
ReplyDeletei love, love, love that blue chicken. where did you find that. did i mention that I LOVE IT!!! hey, you will get to it when you can. i always find more projects that are more important than others - no worries. ha. ha!! ( :
ReplyDeleteI paint about every 3 yrs keeps things looking fresh! That reminds me the base boards.........
ReplyDeleteYou are for sure not alone!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love to repaint but that snowball affect is a very real thing.
Take your time and love that yellow :-)
Hugs!
How I hear ya! That snowball affect is something that I deal with here all the time. Fix one room, the rest look awful!!! And so it goes. I usually save my painting for Spring anyway, so all the windows can be open and the paint dries fast! I say, put it off til Spring!!!

Patty you are not alone. There are so many things I would love to do around here, but this winter weather just seems to get me down. I think I am like a big brown bear. In sleep mode until spring ~
ReplyDeleteThat's a bright and sunny section of your kitchen and it looks nice! I know what you mean about painting. It's SUCH a big chore. I'm like that (procrastinating, that is), with several closets and my home office, too. I know it needs to be done, but not now. hee hee Susan
ReplyDeleteSo glad someone doesn't just jump in and start a project. It's not necessarily procrastinating, but requiring planning and being prepared. LOL
ReplyDeleteJudy
The mood will come when the time is right, Patty!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Barb
The paint won't run away but sit quietly and wait until the mood takes you, half the fun is feeling it's enjoyable isn't it? :-). Looking at your lovely blue hen on the shelf there, she is lovely! Happy weekend, Pam :-)
ReplyDeleteOh no . . . you are not alone. I blame it on the wintertime blues . . . I think that a big dose on sunshine would really help with motivation. I am not a natural procrastinator, but this time of year brings out the worst in me. I do agree with you about the snowball effect . . . but nothings wrong with that:)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day:)
Your blogging sister, Connie
I have been sick, and still not feeling well. Everything is getting behind. I am now putting a very large load of laundry out on the line.
ReplyDeletePatty,
ReplyDeleteMOVE OVER...
it's not the PAINTING that gets "put off" On Crooked Creek...
it's the SEWING!!!
Have a wonderful (non~painting) weekend, dear friend!!!
Fondly,
Pat
Yes I think you have diagnosed what I am ailing with right now.
ReplyDeleteIt happens with all of our projects. My husband calls it the domino affect! One project leads to another and another. I like seeing your orange juice glasses and pitcher. I had a set like that when we married in 78. I worked in a grocery store and bought a few at a time each week when I got paid. Every time I see some in a thrift store, I smile......next time I see some, I'm going to buy them!
ReplyDeletePainting is definitely a big job and one I never want to do! I finally finished painting my son's room after procrastinating almost a month!
ReplyDeleteI understand the snowball effect completely. Right no I feel like the queen of procrastination. It's okay to just live in the moment. At least that's what I'm telling myself today!
ReplyDeleteThat's funny...I did the same exact post the other day. I feel your pain. I don't know where to start....or more importantly where to end...:)
ReplyDeleteYou are not alone... I have been putting off painting my living room for a few years, but this year I am throwing my daughters HS graduation party here so I will be painting soon!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.

You are not alone, my friend. I am the worlds biggest procrastinator. Especially if it doesn't involve sewing. I looked at my garden the other day and I know I can't procrastinate on that much longer. Easter is just around the corner. Oh My!!
