I have always loved to craft and to teach, so when the opportunity to teach a craft class at my local fabric shop presented itself it didn't take much for me to say an emphatic yes!
I wanted to start out with a fun project for beginners that didn't require any sewing skills.
As with any project, I found my inspiration in really great fabric. This pretty red work pattern lent itself so easily to a Spring banner and a little hand embroidery.
I love the way it turned out. I could see it not only strung on a fireplace but wouldn't it be cute hung across a window with the sun streaming in.
If you would like to join me and make one for yourself (or to give as a gift) I have twelve spots available at the Sew N Sew in the adorable downtown Village of Glendora, CA.
The Village itself is worth the trip with its tree lined streets and quaint mom and pop businesses and is located 20 miles east of Los Angeles. The shop is directly across the street from Knot Too Shabby which specializes in wonderful painted furniture and sells both Annie Sloan and Miss Mustard Seeds paints.
The class is scheduled for March 4, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. If you know me, the premise for our get together is to make a banner but this morning will be about so much more. Next to my love of crafting and teaching is my love to entertain. My head is swimming with ideas for this day and many future classes. The fee is $25.00 (this includes everything you'll need except basic sewing supplies and embroidery floss) and can be paid in the shop or by telephone (626) 852-2223.
I am so excited about teaching and to teach in the Village is like living a dream. I would love it if you could join me. I can't wait to put some faces to your kind words.
xo, Patty
Have a wonderful class, Patty. I'll be waving from Canada! :)

ReplyDeleteWhat a darling banner. Love the red and white. You will make a great teacher because you love what you do. I miss teaching and if I knew we would be in one spot long enough, I would love to teach quilting again. Last year in July we were close enough, but as of right now don't know where we will be in March. Have fun. Lucky students to get you for a teacher.
