busy, busy, busy

I am sorry I have been such a bad blogger lately.  It seems every time I have a minute to check in life happens and I get pulled away.

My weekend at Women of Faith was just what I needed.  The speakers offered exactly the messages I needed to hear to move forward with fresh energy.

I had a minute to relax on Sunday and then it was off to San Diego to watch my son in law be sworn in for his second tour of duty on Monday.  What a proud moment to witness.

The weather cooled just enough for me to head into the garage on Tuesday and pull out my fall decorations. So today is all about unpacking, editing and autumnizing Lemon Lane Cottage.

I am so ready to usher in fall and all of the fun of this season.  It has been a long hot summer and the thought of days cool enough to spend outside and maybe even reach for a sweater, sound pretty good right about now.

I might even buy my first bag of Halloween candy (which we all know is never going to make it until those trick or treaters arrive).  How are you all doing?

xo, Patty

  1. Patty
I know what you meant about being busy. If I just didn't need to sleep I could get so much more accomplished. Fall has certainly arrived here, it dipped down to 38 last night and only in the 60's by day. I am ready, I so hated all the heat and humidity of Summer.

  2. Patty,
Answered prayers ...I can feel the lightness and energy in this post!!! Ah~h~h Autumn air! EnJOY your days of Autumn decorating, dear friend! Saw some candy corn in the grocer's over the weekend...can't believe I had it in my hand...then reality set in and I put it back! I, too, am enJOYing this Fall Season!!!

  3. I am still trying to accept the idea that fall (and winter) are quickly approaching!

  4. I am hoping to get into my attic today to pull out my Fall decorations too. I have the back door finished up. I need to work on the mantel and the front door. I did buy a bag of candy corn already. The kind with the pumpkins. Yummy!

  5. I bet watching your SIL is moving. So scary over there right now. I will add him to my prayer list. Enjoy your fallification.

  6. Thank your SIL for me. I so appreciate his service and sacrifice!

How fun to get busy putting out your Fall decor.

I've been slowly doing a little Fall decorating also.... and dreaming of spiced apple cider :)

  7. I started in on the Fall decorating yesterday and there's plenty of need for a sweater here, now. Can't wait to see the harvest magic you do! ~ Maureen

  8. My daughter just started preschool, so it's a bit busier than it has been all summer. I'm welcoming the cool air, though. Those 100+ temps really bummed me out this summer!

  9. I didn't make it to Women of Faith,my friend said that it was amazing. You must be so proud of your son. I am soooo ready for fall temps.
    blessings to you.

  10. Hi Patty,
This post could have been written by me! I have been a bad blogger too. I don't feel like I have much to offer right now. Just waiting for the days to cool!!!!
I can't wait to see your fall decor! Many prayers to your son in law, for his safety, and for all who serve our great country!!
    XO Kris

  11. Patty - Missed your posts. Glad you had a good weekend at your conference. I always come back so inspired from those. God is good!!

  12. When I think of Halloween and candy, my thoughts go naturally to candy corn. Love the stuff!

  13. Glad you had a good weekend..I'm in the process of moving (packing) so I may have to forgo the fall decor this year..

  14. Patty ~ I am SOOOO ready for fall too. I started decorating the front porch and the mantle. It has been so hot this summer ~ I am ready to put on a sweater and sit in the back yard with a fire and a steaming hot cup of cocoa ~ I think that sounds just about perfect ;-)

  15. I'm glad you enjoyed your Faith weekend. I am ready for fall too. I guess CA is like FL though, a loooooong wait, but eventually it will come.
