My roses were a bit of a disappointment in May and June when they are normally at their prettiest. I think it was mostly because we had such a late start getting a string of sunny days together.
Needless to say, I was a bit excited when I noticed the fresh flush of buds on the bushes as I puttered in the garden this past weekend.
I couldn't resist snipping a couple of them to bring inside and enjoy.
These big cabbage roses are some of my favorites and I can hardly wait to see the show they'll be putting on in the next few weeks.
I know fall is just around the corner but for now, I think I'll hold onto summer just a little longer.

Beautiful roses, sorry to see summer go....
ReplyDeleteWith lovely blooms and fragrances like that around I would not want summer to end either. You do have a talented green thumb. Enjoy your hard work looking at these beauties.
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous! This really has been a strange summer. Lots of things didn't grow as planned in my veggie garden either.
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous!! My roses are done for the season and I feel a bit down that I have to wait until next year for the lovely show they will putting on :( But, like you, I will be holding onto summer for for a little bit longer and savor and cherish it :) Xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteYour roses are gorgeous, as are your photos!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for joining Illumination.
Gorgeous roses! Mine didn't do well at all earlier in the season cause of our drought and heat. Finally coming around this month which is weird cause it's August... our hottest month of the year. Still got a good three months of blooming time here though.
