Christmas week

12/22/14

It seems for the best of my intentions this Christmas week kind of snuck up on me and left me in a bit of a whirlwind and feeling overwhelmed.

The holidays can bring out the very best and the very worst in people and I am certainly no exception.  When I take on too much, those closest to me tend to feel the brunt of it.  Thankfully, I have a day to rest, regroup, relax and reflect today.

I think that's one of the reasons Christmas is followed by the New Year.  Whether you're one to make resolutions or not, it is a time of new beginnings and fresh starts.  I already have a list of things about myself that I am praying over.  Ways to make myself a better person...kinder, less controlling and happier.

With all that said, I do still love Christmas and am looking forward to the next few days with eager anticipation.  What about you?  Have you managed to pace yourself or are you feeling the stress a little, too?

Happy Monday all!

xo, Patty

  3. Hi Patty. Feel quite relaxed. Did pressie shopping ages ago. Finished food shopping. Just going round friends to drop last pressies off. Only the four of us for lunch. So will be nice and relaxed just the way we like it.
    Christmas wishes to you.

  4. It's a joyful time, but a bit stressful with all of the plans for visiting, worrying about winter weather having an impact on travels, and all the cooking I need to do. Time to just remember that this is Jesus' birthday and He doesn't want us to stress out and overdo.

  5. Sorry you are stressed. I have found ever since I beat cancer, that I just let things roll off me, so I am doing well with the Christmas crazies. :) May you have a good holiday. Kit

  7. I'm sorry that you are feel low and blue . . . but this little time to rest will help, I'm sure.
I'll be praying. God bless you and may your Christmas be bright and cheerful and change your lows to highs.
Keep smiling and remember the reason we celebrate this glorious time of year. We have a Savior who was born to save and protect us and He is alive today and watching over you and loving you more than you will ever know :)
    Merry Christmas.

  9. Patty,
With retirement, the stress before the holiday season is minimal.
My focus is on "Mr. Ed's" continuing health and trips to visit my Dad
as he transitions from this life unto his eternal home.
Looking forward to renewal for 2015!!!
    Fondly,
    Pat
