in my studio right now

8/5/15

As you can probably tell I have been obsessed with sewing lately, mainly piecing quilts and small projects.  Every spare moment finds me running upstairs to my studio and flipping on the power switch to my sewing machine.

My biggest problem is deciding which of the projects I already have going to work on, or if I should start on one of the many ideas I have swirling around in my head at any given moment, like this cute little tote bag I sketched out.

Unfortunately, more often than not the new idea wins out...which is why I have so many unfinished projects!

I think it's time to make a list of those WIPS (works in progress) and start tackling them one by one. Maybe when school gets back in session next week and my days have more order.  (Read into that, when I actually stay home long enough to get anything done.)  Most of them will be Christmas presents, some will go in my Etsy shop and a few will stay here with me.

One day I hope to be a good finisher...

xo, Patty

  4. Love your fabrics Patty. You need to pop over to Diane's Lavender dreamer blog...she's been sewing like crazy on doll clothes mostly. You will love them. Bj at sweet nothings has shown some quilts she has made a few posts back. Blessings to you honey, xoxo,Susie

  5. What a cute bag and the fabric choice is perfect. I like to start one project and finish it before moving on to something new. It drives me crazy having it half done :)

  7. Hi Patty, now I have a name for them "WIPS" (works in progress) . . . that is exactly what I have been trying to do. Right now I have a quilt on my frame that I pieced together last winter, then rolled up and forgot about. A list is the best idea ever . . . it really keeps us on track. You and Carol of Art & Sand have both mentioned making a list this week on your blogs, I think it is a great idea. Love your purse drawing and will love to see your finished product . . . you're such a talented young lady :)
