some girls buy shoes...

5/13/15

After a busy few months I am in major nesting and purging mode and I knew at the top of my list was to freshen up the front porch in time for summer evening sitting time.

I made a couple of dollars at the handmade boutique I joined over the weekend and it was burning a hole in my pocket so yesterday after bible study I grabbed my sister in law and we headed out to the new Joann's down the road for a little inspiration.

I came home with new pillows (went in for fabric to recover the old and came out with already made for the same price...thank you coupon ready sister), a pretty piece of wall art and a fresh new mat for the front door.  A quick stop at the local nursery provided me with the makings of some new flower filled pots and additional garden color.

I am heading outdoors right now to put it all together and can't wait to show it to you soon.  How about you?  Are you ready for a little porch or patio sitting time?

  1. I am so ready, Patty :) We have been enjoying our porch and the pleasant spring weather that we have been having. Right now it is raining and a bit chilly, but it is so good for the garden. I go out everyday to see if any of my seeds have popped through the ground. They are always slower than I thing they should be, LOL.
Happy planting . . . I am looking forward to seeing your finished porch.

  3. I love the flowers, so many bright colors :>) I am READY for porch sitting...unfortunately it is about 50 degrees outside today so it will have to wait for nicer weather, which we should get my the weekend. We plan to expand our raised beds and start planting then. Have fun summerfying everything !

  5. Those flowers are so pretty grouped together. I have a few flowers planted and wouldn't you know there is a frost warning tonight.
