in the studio...art hearts

I was having so much fun working in my art journal that I started thinking about ways that I could incorporate those same techniques onto canvas.


I started with a simple heart pattern and went from there.  I traced the heart shape onto canvas fabric and painted the entire piece with gesso to act as my background. 

Then I began painting sections of color and pattern free hand and topped it with bits of patterned paper.
A little painting and shading later...


 Art. Hearts.

I backed them with fabric and added a few of my favorite scripture verses and now I think they are adorable.
I made matching tags to gift them to friends that I will share with you later.
I plan on listing them in the shop in the next day or two.  I will keep you posted.

    I think they are adorable too!! What a good idea. I'm not much good at crafts but intend to 'have a go' this year. I think I may give these a try. I like the Bible verses too! Joan
