fashion Wednesday...

11/11/15

I've joined a group of ladies on facebook who are over 40 and fashion conscious.  It is just the most amazingly encouraging group and proof positive that you can reach those middle-ish years in style.  I also love that these are real women in all shapes and sizes and they are all beautiful and kind and inspiring.

The group has upped my accountability to get dressed in more than pj's or sweats (on most days) and to continue my walking on a consistent basis. I thought it would be fun to share with you on Wednesdays what I've shared with them the previous week.

Most of the photos are just selfies taken with my smart phone so they may not always be the best quality but hopefully they will still encourage you to have fun with fashion and remind you that you are worth fixing up for.  As silly as it seems in the midst of all the worries of the world, I do feel better when I take the time to get dressed.

Okay, I'll step off my soap box now and wish you all a great Wednesday and to all of you who have served or loved someone who is serving or has served, Happy Veteran's Day and thank you for your sacrifice to our country.

xo, Patty

  1. Patty, I just love that group even though I do not have the nerve to post my own pictures. You always look fabulous!

  2. Good Evening Patty, Oh you spring chicken.... you are so young and you look fabulous. I am 63 years and I love fashion...not high fashion, but clothes which make me feel good. There is nothing like getting a 'hairdo', nails manicured and a lovely outfit to make me feel on top of the world.
Have fun with your lovely, new, inspiring friends.
    Best Wishes to you.

  4. Patty,
Not only are you just as "cute" as a button, dear friend. . .
but you look totally "professional" in your wardrobe!!!
    I, too, am working on improving my "over 60's" wardrobe;
however, I'd much rather spend those dollar$ on home decor!!!
Thank you for encouraging and inspiring!!!
    Fondly,
    Pat

  5. Patty, you are so right about this! It's so important to do. Even if I have a yoga pant day I try to put a little effort into it and I find that taking two minutes to out on a quick face pays off for me all day long. By the way you look fabulous in that shade of gold and I'd love to know where that sweater is from. I have one similar from target but love the lines of yours!

  6. Patty you look fab! I beleive you look as old as you feel and on a good day I feel like I am in my twenties....I do not follow fashion because I have always done my own thing. But I have also learn,t what suits me. I wear normal clothes but my children say I have my own way of putting my bits togeather. Most people think I am younger than my age, and most of the time I am older than them....Which I find funny. I am happy with my style and do not care about my age. If I like something I buy it and do not care what anyone thinks. I think this confidence only comes with age....

  7. You look beautiful, Patty! You wear your clothing well and look amazing. I love to get dressed up and I will say that learned that early on from my favorite aunt. She always said that if you took the time to LOOK as good as you could you would FEEL good. She was so right and she was beautiful right up till the day she died in her 80s.
I buy what I like and wear what I love...and even my hair is probably "too young" for my age---but it is part of who I am and I really don't care what the "fashionistas" might think about it. lol xo Diana
