THE FLAVORS OF FALL

9/15/17

It's finally beginning to feel a little bit like fall and I've started to put out a few things to celebrate the change of seasons.  I saw so many things I loved at Hobby Lobby, Target and the Dollar Tree that I had a hard time waiting for the weather to cool down before decorating for Autumn.

I bought a bag of pumpkin flavored coffee at Cost Plus World Market and lit my pumpkin spice
candle, put on some jazzy music and got to working on my fall mantle.  I think my favorite thing this year are the little copper leave lights that I found in the Target bullseye bins for $3.00.

It seems every year there is something that stands out and makes decorating all the more fun.  Besides those little lights I love my new fall pillow (which I'll be sharing with you soon).  The pretty blue bird and the pumpkin really put me in the mood for snuggling on the sofa with my favorite cup of tea and a crochet project.

Now that the living room is finished I need to move on to the rest of the house.  I only do the dining room hutch and centerpiece for Halloween so that will probably be what I work on next.  The porch is going strictly fall this year and so is the rest of the dining room and the kitchen.

What about you?  Have you started your autumn decorating or will you wait a bit longer and enjoy every last second of summer?

xo, Patty

  3. I love your videos. You are so inspiring and so sweet. You are getting me in the mood for fall even though in Texas it doesn't come until the end of October and the beginning of November. Nelda

    1. Southern California weather doesn't usually get on board until late October either but sometimes you just have to use your imagination. lol

  5. Loved the video and the blog post. I'm so glad that I found your videos on YouTube last week. I've gone through and watched most of them and feel like we're just chatting together in your home. You definitely have a talent for this. I'm sure the ladies from your small group enjoyed gathering in the place that you so lovingly prepared for them.

  12. Hi Patty, it's a pleasure to get reconnected with your blog again. I've only put a few fall touches here and there. Definitely not ready to go full-out fall yet. Savoring every last bit of summer. It's actually 96 here with the heat index in northern IL! I was at the grocery store today with my husband and I saw bags of mini pumpkins. At first I was going to buy them, then I said to my hubby that those could wait awhile yet. ;-)
