An awkward hello...

4/3/17

Hello there.  It seems this year is flying by at break neck speed and despite my best intentions I have just not been able to establish a regular blogging flow.  It's not like there hasn't been plenty to share, it's just one of those out of the habit things I guess, and now that it's been so long I'm struggling with where to start.

My hope is that like with any long time friend, once the awkward hello's are over, you just start talking and the ease and flow returns.  So here goes...

I have been in such a good place creatively.  I was in a bit of a life rut and I had let my time in the studio dwindle down to nothing and for anyone who draws positive energy from creating things that is the worst thing you can do.  Once I made the time for making things back into my life everything just seemed to begin to lighten up a bit.

And now that I've let my mind go down the "makers going to make" path, there is no turning off my brain.

Most of my time has been spent behind my sewing machine or with a crochet hook in my hand but with spring here now, my garden has been calling as well.  I have dubbed this the year of the seedlings because for whatever reason I have had more success than ever starting my veggies and flowers inside.  I even set up a mini greenhouse/light box in the laundry room (much to my husbands disapproving scowl, LOL) in February.  Those plants have now been moved outside and I've just started to plant a few of them in the raised beds.

The self seeding annuals and returning perennials are putting on quite a show right now, too.  In the interest of not over whelming you with garden photos I will save sharing that sight for next post. Until then, I hope this spring finds you well, bursting with creative energy and full of hope.

xo, Patty

  1. Everything looks beautiful. I've been at a kind of slow down place with my blog. Though I have a few posts ahead now for those days when nothing comes to mind. Have a lovely week!

  2. I have loved seeing your creative side come back. Life has a way of trying to overwhelm us. It often takes a conscious effort or a kick in the butt to get us back on track.
